Comparison and Contrast of Mary Rowlandson’s Works Mary Rowlandson was in a position to write about her hardships from the word go when she was held as a captive. It is a different approach in literary works because many writers are usually writing about a third person to make their pieces interesting and well thought. Mary was quite instrumental in writing based on the teachings of the Bible. In most of her publications, she mentions God’s existence while giving tribute to Him (Winthrop 32). So as to understand her literary writings and approaches, it is important to compare and contrast her “Narrative of the Captivity and Restoration of Mrs. Mary Rowlandson” and “Beyond Puritanism.” However, in Narrative of the Captivity and Restoration
