The country music of our society today does not follow the ideology that country music can only be made by white Americans. Country music artists of multiple ethnicities can be found in our society today. Darius Rucker is an African American country artist who is quite popular on the billboard charts today. This is in deep contrast to the hillbilly music decade when no African-Americans were making hillbilly records.

However, the sound of country music has changed vastly. Also, technology has gotten better allowing for better transmission of the music.
Many people enjoyed listening to this kind of country music while riding their horse, taking a walk, or even traveling through train! Many of the country music songs would tell about their love, life, or family and making a difference in musicians. Songs of this era would be played on recordings, including the famous “Grand Ole Opry”, and on radio shows by advertising. I do think that these themes have changed very much in modern country music. This is because back then there songs use to be very subtle and lots of jazz, now a-days our country music have lots of instruments with classical music to it and strong voice to sing different harmonies.
The “Nashville Sound” referred to the new sound that was coming from specific studios in Nashville and differentiated them between previous and contemporary styles (Hill, 297). These styles were a pairing of town and country which is why it is also known as Countrypolitan. This was the movement that explained how country music derived from the country and moved to the towns for expansion. Though this movement became well known, there were several debates on if the new sound would still be the same country music or “true country” (Hill, 297).

The lyrics are about real life experiences that anyone can relate to, and this is what makes country music so popular. The music industry also has a large impact on the genre. It is now very popular for an artist to be sponsored by a large company and that is why it is possible for country artists to sell out large stadiums that seat over 10,000 people.
