The more we can understand about marine life, the more we are advancing as an educated
Millions upon millions of different organisms make their home in the ocean where humans cannot see them. But just because they remain invisible does not mean that do not play a vital role in the understanding of ocean life. Scientists collect and study the different specimens to understand, track, and predict changes within a certain species, identify between male and female, as well as discover new species entirely, and unravel relationships between multiple species (Smithsonian). But the ocean provides not only for the organisms living within in it, but also for humans who depend on the ocean more than many would first think. The ocean produces over fifty percent of the oxygen humans breathe, as well as regulating earth’s temperatures (Smithsonian).
Immanuel Kant - "Look closely. The beautiful may be small". Growing up, I never really had a lot of what people my age would have because of my family's financial struggle. Despite this, I feel like it has taught me to appreciate the little things in our life since one day, they will most likely disappear. When we did have money to spare, my parents made sure that I and my sister were happy and because of this, I discovered that I enjoyed playing video games.
Exploring the ocean could help people understand Earth better to.
For example historians, they study events or objects in the past and megafauna is an animal that is famous for its history. There are a wide range of megafauna that have an interesting past which is hard to discover without historians. Palaeontologist might also be interested because they study the bones and structure of animals. There are megafauna bones that have been fossilized around the world and are waiting for palaeontologists to find out more about them and their history. When they do find the bones they are able to discover more
The diversity throughout the animal and plant kingdom is astonishing, is it not? Especially in the oceans, where we only discovered a handful of creatures. However, out of that handful, mankind has learned so much. With that knowledge, comes the desire to protect and preserve each and every precious life discovered. Whether that’d be a Madagascar Lace plant or a Sunfish; they are all important.
According to http://www.livescience.com technology has played a role in exploring and understanding the ocean for thousands of years, and it will continue to do so. From 2007 to 2009, he led the Danaos project, South American nation's coast more than 300 years
Adela Papiez Granitz Accelerated English 9 22 March 2017 Outline Marine Biologists: Saving the Environment One Animal at a Time Thesis: Marine biology is a demanding job requiring working with marine animals, and having many qualifications and courses to take, as well as years of training, with many fulfilling rewards. Generally, marine biology is the study of organisms, their relationship to the environment, and their behavior, in addition to studying the chemical aspects of bodies of saltwater ("At A Glance" & "NOAA Fisheries").
It can help save many of our ocean creatures lives. It is important because other scientists can also use this map to study dolphin and whale migration patterns. This information is very important because it can save these marine animals from going extinct. A lot of our ocean life needs our help. I believe every species is very important and has a use in our environment.
There are million different careers out there in the world for me to choose from, but finding the one perfect for me can be difficult. Joining the army is going to be the first start of my future and my career. In the army, I can get paid while working, get a scholarship, and a job all right there on a military base. I realized that it might be a little hard for me to raise up enough money to pay for college to go right away, but if I go into the military I could get a scholarship, which means the military would pay for my college on base or whatever school they have for me to go to. This would definitely be my future and basically my whole life.
The ocean, however, has major benefits: providing food, medicine, and the air we breathe. Oceans can bring much more to the table, if we would simply explore more of them. Space provides both medicinal and technological advancements, yet the ocean not only brings those about, but also has a plethora of more benefits including jobs. Oceans benefit the population in many ways, one of them being income.
When one thinks of a veterinarian, most associate this job title with treating dogs, cats, horses, cows, and other farm and companion animals. However, a relatively small field not known by the general population is that of marine veterinary medicine. If one has a passion for the water and a desire to help the creatures in it, marine veterinary medicine just may be the perfect career. Marine veterinarians are responsible for “conducting basic exams and evaluations, giving vaccinations, taking samples of blood and other bodily fluids, prescribing and distributing medication, evaluating behaviour, performing surgical procedures, and taking x-rays and sonograms” (Kramer “Life of an Aquatic Veterinarian”).
Technology brought the study of marine biology to new horizons in 1934 when William Beebe and Otis Barton dove 923m (3,028 ft.) below the surface in a bathysphere, a spherical deep sea submersible. In 1960, Auguste Piccard, Jean Ernest-Jean Piccard, Dan Walsh, dove 10,916m (35,813 ft.) into the Challenger Deep of the Marianna trench, the deepest known point in the ocean, in the bathyscape Trieste (MarineBio). While there is a rich history that revolves around the study of marine biology, marine biologists today are still making new discoveries. The path to becoming a marine biologist is a difficult one. The job can be extremly rewarding but “because so many people want to get into the field, [a person needs] dedication and creativity” to be successful in becoming a marine biologist (Woolston).
Marine organisms are animals, plants, and other living things that live in the ocean. A Marine biologist is a scientist who studies marine organisms and studies the bodies, behavior, and the history of marine organisms. They also study how marine organisms interact with each other and their environment. I have chosen to research about Marine biology because I would like to learn about sea life, the ocean, and its surrounding environment. To start off, a Marine biologist might study coral, crabs, fish, microscopic marine organisms, sea stars, seaweed, squid, or whales.
They are very unique in many different ways and a crucial support for human life. They play also a very important role in the marine life such as giving shelter and food for millions of species including fishes, crabs, or shrimps. They support 33% of marine fish species. They also have specific and certain conditions to be formed, and to survive. They are also known as the “rainforest of the oceans” because of its huge diversity.
