Growing up as a young child in the world of sports, I had a variety of childhood heroes that I looked up too. For me, those childhood heroes were Dwyane Wade and Lebron James. At the age of seven, these two phenomenal NBA athletes took the league and world by storm. Each has collected their fair-share of accolades and trophies. From NBA championships, to NBA scoring leaders or NBA first All-Rookie team, both of these individuals have dominated the sport of basketball for over a decade.
The King Lebron James and one of the Splash Bros, there is always the question of who is better. This question is not something that is easy to answer, especially in a very opinionated world. In one of the most popular sports known to man, basketball, there’s a heated rivalry between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Golden State Warriors in this generation. Steph Curry and Lebron James are at the center of that debate. These players not only want to win but also to be the best individual they can be.
One individual that’s determined, focused, and compassionate was Bunny Thompson. He reminds me of Kobe Bryant. Kobe Bryant was very committed and always brought his best game consistently. Kobe, despite being in pain, was always concentrating on bettering himself by being healthy. Along with being very compassionate towards the people he surrounded himself with.
Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant are different when it comes to their awards and statistics, but are almost identical with their playing styles and personalities. Michael and Kobe are both amazing basketball players. They both wanted to be the best on the court, but it would be difficult for Kobe to surpass Michael’s many achievements. Kobe is still in the NBA playing for the Los Angeles Lakers, but he is older and not the player he once was.
Most people say Michael Jordan is the greatest player every play the game of basketball. Some people think Kobe Bryant is the closing thing to Michael Jordan; other even think Kobe is better than Jordan. Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant have similar styles and mindset that make them among the best every play the game; but Jordan was the better player, with better statistics, and the greater achievements. Michael is known as the greatest player in the NBA ever. Michael Jordan goal was to make it to the NBA ever since he was a young boy. A lot of people looked over Michael Jordan growing up. Michael Jordan has won more championships than Lebron, his statistics are better than Lebron’s statistics, and he was recognized more by people when he was a player than Lebron has and is recognized. All of these statements along with the facts behind them just prove that Michael Jordan was a better basketball player than Lebron is now. If you still don’t believe that Michael Jordan is the best player of all time just listen to some of the NBA legends. Larry Bird once said, “everyone obviously thinks that Jordan was the best player ever”. Not only did Larry Bird make that statement so did Hakeem Olajuwon when he stated, “Lebron is among the all time greatest players, but Jordan was much superior to him”.
The better player of the two is, Jordan. One reason is because of Jordan’s NBA finals stats. He is the only player in NBA finals history to never score less than 20 points in any of his finals games. Jordan led his team to the finals six times and came out victorious all six of those times. He was also named finals MVP all six times.
Kobe Bryant was able to win 5 and Michael Jordan won 6. This puts MJ ahead in the winning category because championships are what you strive for especially since MJ played for less years. Most players would be satisfied with winning one, but winning wasn’t enough for them. Their cutthroat mentality and desire to be the best escalated them to becoming two of the greatest players ever. What’s outstanding is how they both played in different generations and played almost exactly the same and both of them were not able to be stopped,
The Ethos of Egos Michael Jordan, has scored more points (5,987) in the playoffs than any other player in the history of the NBA. There are many facts and statistics that one could site in regard to basketball, but I believe that this one is the most important. The playoffs are when it counts. A team could win every single game in the regular season, but if they slip up even a little in the playoffs, all those regular season wins become obsolete. That is why Michael Jordan being the all-time leading scorer in the playoffs marks him as the best player to ever play the game.

Most players from college basketball are even drafted to the NBA
