In Andrea Smith’s article “Heteropatriarchy and the Three Pillars of White Supremacy”, Smith argues from three different perspectives on how different people are oppressed and are victimized together. She presents three scenarios involving people of color and how they can modernize to become unified. The three pillars she uses to try to understand white supremacy describe the logic behind: slavery and how it deals with capitalism, genocide in the United States colonialism, and orientalism during wartime. In the first pillar presented, slavery is used to understand white supremacy by saying black people are innately thought of as property, which serves as the anchor for capitalism.
It is truly evident that the fundamental focal point of the whole motion picture is bigotry. Bigotry is characterized as the conviction that all individuals from each race forces attributes or capacities particular to that race, particularly to recognize it as substandard compared to another race, which prompts preference and oppression somebody of an alternate race. The film determines its attention on bigotry in the unified states. As we clearly all know, prejudice has been one of the greatest issues that american culture has looked since its establishing and even previously.
Republican candidate, Abraham Lincoln, won the Election of 1860 with approximately forty percent of the popular vote and a majority of the electoral votes. Lincoln grasped the attention of the nation with his Cooper Union Speech which opposed the expansion of slavery but not slavery itself. Lincoln embraced a more popular free soil opposition to the expansion of slavery. This caused the Republican Party to become a supporter of free soil but not abolition. Soon after Lincoln was elected as the 16th President of the United States, South Carolina seceded from the Union.
When it comes to white nationalist movements, I personally have little knowledge about them. With that in mind, when it came to reading The White Nationalist Movement by Daniel Levitas, there were several aspects that I found interesting as well as surprising. One of the first things that I found the most interesting and surprising was that white national movement is still quite prominent in the United States. Specifically I found it surprising how intertwined they are with the modern political system. and subsequently how clever they are at gaining support.
Whether it is the worries that my mother has for me everyday or the awkwardness I feel when talking about social issues in the with my mainly white professors and classmates. Issues of race in the U.S. threatens to oppress minorities by having a culture that has never given the same privilege that whites receive. According to Brainard (2009)," white privilege refers to the unquestioned or invisible preference that white people receive regarding their treatment by others; these may be but are not limited to words, behaviors, and/or actions, policies and practices and or nonverbal communication"(p.10). Conflict theory has been used to describe the discrepancies in power and distribution of resources among the dominate group and the subordinate groups. Racial inequalities and racism among the groups has played a big role in the concept of conflict theory. Conflict theory examines the rising conflict between the dominate group, or white ruling class, and racial minorities, such as African Americans. This conflict and inequality among the races may be a reason why 20.2 percent of African American males die by homicide. In fact, African Americans are six times as likely as whites to be killed by homicide.
End to White Supremacy Racial discrimination and oppression both exists in the United States which limits non-Europeans to not be able to reach their full potential and strive in this horrid country due to the worst doctrine in American history: white supremacy. Throughout all history, non-Europeans have suffered from lack of equal rights and opportunity due to discrimination. White supremacy organizations have been made with the motive of terrorizing non-whites, as well as, caused environments to become hostile for mostly African Americans. Therefore, the ideology of white supremacy ought to be banned from the United States.
“ According to the National Association of Social Workers Web site, racism is “the ideology or practice through demonstrated power or perceived superiority of one group over others by reasons of race, color, ethnicity, or cultural heritage....” The definition further goes on to note that “racism is manifested at the individual, group, and institutional level.” (Blank, 2013) Despite how much time has passed by, racism continues to be a huge issue today. We see it every day, some have even been confronted by racial discrimination, or racial slurs even. We see how the system could be for example: how blacks continue to get more severe punishments or blacks have higher the chance to get criminally sentenced than whites.
Essentially, these forms relate to a struggle for power and resources, one side being the oppressed and the other the oppressor. As racism holds unfounded bias, prejudice and discrimination within its core ideologies, the conflict theory undoubtedly supplies the best approach to obtaining a general conception of the effects racism has on society. The relationship between race and racism is due to the fact that there are racial categories created, in order for particular social groups to be on top of the hierarchy. For example, the white group, which is on top of this racial hierarchy, established the notion of race in order to benefit themselves, which has led to racism among other minority groups. The ideology of a group being superior than others leads to racism. Ultimately, race is the product of racism, and racism is not the product of race (25).

White people were privileged by law in such questions as immigration, education, work and voting rights. In the 17th century a lot of Irish, Italian and Polish groups were immigrating from Europe.

It is the “hatred” of one person to another individual, solely based on that person's belief that the person is inferior because of their language, birthplace and skin colour. Racism is an issue that has lasted throughout history, providing justification for a group’s dominance over another.
