Competition between deer and cow
The purpose of this experiment is to look at the competition between deer and cows in one biome that will be decreased in size year by year for three years. Introduction: Grasslands are areas where there is a lot of vegetation and is mostly grass along with a little bit of sedge (cyberaceae) and rush (juncaceae) which are also types of vegetation. This is relevant because the experiment will be held in a grassland ecosystem. The climate of grasslands can go from -20 degrees Celsius to 30 degrees Celsius and that depends on its location. They get some rain which is mostly in the summer and its around 24-59 inches per year and this causes some of the plants to shrivel and die (Webber 1). This biome is present

Tim Davies; a cow nutritionist notes: "They need a nutritionally balanced diet. If farmers get this right, health and welfare will improve - and the cows may produce more milk as well”. Most British dairy cows eat grass throughout the summer and silage, which is preserved grass or maize in the winter. This is frequently accompanied with dry feeds like cereals and protein feeds with supplementary minerals and vitamins. Between 25kg and 50 kg is the amount each cow eats per day and the cow needs a continuous and fixed reserve of fresh H2O to drink (This Is Dairy Farming 1). The quantity of food a cow eats varies on the stage of lactation, breed and age and this is why many farmers get in touch with expert consultants to improve the correct diet and put it into …show more content…
CV:
1. Amount of deer started with (5): this is going to stay constant by counting the deer in the beginning of the experiment in the three different sizes and making sure that they are always 5.
2. Amount of cows started with (5): this is going to stay constant by counting the deer in the beginning of the experiment in the three different sizes and making sure that they are always 5.
3. Height of grass started with (3.81cm): this is going to be kept controlled by measuring the grass all around the grassland using a ruler and making sure its all 3.81cm long
4. Type of grass used in the grassland (tall fescue grass): this will be kept constant by doing the experiment I one place and not going to another grassland that may have a different type of grass which may affect the credibility and accuracy of my results and observations.
5. The cows that are out in the area in the beginning of each trial: this is going to be kept controlled by not switching the cows and keeping them the same for the whole trial, this will also be held constant by closing all the fences so that no cow can enter or exit the
