The most crucial method is, splitting government power into three separate branches; that way, one “elite” group doesn’t become corrupt with power. Henry Middleton once said, “There is no liberty, if the power of judging be not separated from the legislative and executive powers.” This quote conveys that the moment the three branches start overriding each other and ignore the fact that they have separated responsibilities, the liberty this government is founded on, will be in jeopardy. For instance, the whole ordeal involving DACA; which is known as the dreamer’s act, an executive order during the Obama Administration. Congress has not created a law regarding the issue, which 70% of Americans favor. In 2016, immigrants made up 13.5% of America’s total population; that’s 43.7 million out of 323.1 million people. If Congress was to make DACA a law, then the immigrants of this country would be dramatically impacted.In addition, Congress does not accurately reflect the people because the diversity of the U.S. population is not represented as seen by the demographics. To illustrate, The Senate is made up of 90% white males and The House of Representatives shouldn’t even be named that if white males make up 78%.
