Cosmetology Career Plan

During the next nine months of my life, I will be preparing to get my Oklahoma State Board of Cosmetology license while also studying to receive a higher American College Testing score so that I can go to college. I will also be working at a hair salon as a receptionist so that I will be able to have a feel for what goes on in a hair salon. I have very specific goals that I have set for myself and I anticipate to accomplish them. My grandmother is a cosmetology instructor. All of my life, I have watched her cut, color, and style family and friend’s hair. I have always had an interest in the beauty industry considering my grandmother 's work always looked so elegant and precise. As I became a sophomore in highschool, I finally decided on taking the cosmetology program at Francis Tuttle Technology Center, where my grandmother teaches at. This is my second year of cosmetology school. This next nine months is going to be all about preparing myself for state board test. If I pass the test then I will be able to get my cosmetology license and become a professional hairdresser. In addition to preparing myself for to get my cosmetology license and working as a receptionist. I will also be studying to improve my American College Testing score. Although I do not need a college degree to become a cosmetologist, I would still love to further my education. I am planning on majoring in business so that I could soon open up my own salon while having the knowledge to do so. The university that I plan on going to is the University of Central Oklahoma. In order to go there I must receive a twenty-one on my American College Testing test. The last time I took it I only received a fifteen.
