Romeo and Juliet's families hate each other and have had a feud for many years. Without this ancient feud Romeo and Juliet would have been able to freely love each other without having to be secret. Romeo's death was influenced by the hate between the two families. The reader is able to inference this from the Montague's and the Capulet's ancient feud. "
In my mind this gives me every reason to believe the death of Romeo and Juliet is a result of the hatred between their families and the tension of their love to keep it secret. Another main character that I thought played a huge role in the deaths in Romeo and Juliet is Mr. Capulet (Juliet's father). In Document D Mr. Capulet says “But fettle your fine joint’s ‘gainst Thursday next, To go with Paris to Saint Peter’s Church, Or I will drag thee on a hurdle thither” DBQ Project: Romeo and Juliet Who’s to blame Document D. In my opinion Mr. Capulet is the reason Juliet later fakes her death to get out of the marriage between her and Paris.
Did the power of love or hate contribute more to Romeo's death? I believe that love is the greater factor in Romeo's death. Without love William Shakespear´s story of Romeo and Juliet would not have even happened. As soon as Romeo laid his eyes upon Juliet he was instantly in love and in that moment was when Romeo had already begun to prove his love for her. The text says, ¨My lips, two blushing pilgrims, ready stand/To smooth that rough touch with a tender kiss"( Shakespeare 1. 5.92,93).
Tragedy love Hatred is a dangerous force that causes people to make dangerous decisions. In Shakespeare’s play, The tragedy of Romeo and Juliet, he tells the story as two teenage kids fall in love with two families who always argue. This ends up with both Romeo and Juliet killing themselves. They died because Tybalt, Juliet's kinsman, was argumentative and tribal throughout the essay. Tybalt is the reason for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet because he is always to argue and his strong loyalty to his family.
(Act 2 scene 6 lines 1 and
In Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, hate is to blame for Romeo and Juliet’s death. In Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, hate is to blame for Romeo and Juliet’s death. In the Prologue Shakespeare talks about the feud between the two families.
None of this would have happened if Romeo didn't kill Tybalt because of hate. The text says before Tybalt is murdered by Romeo: "Away to heaven, respective lenity, / And fire-ey'd fury be my conduct now! / Now, Tybalt, take the "villain" back again / That late thou gavest me, for Mercutio's soul, / Is but a little way above our heads, Staying for thine to keep him company. / Either thou or I, or both, must go with him" (Act 3, Scene 1, lines 83-89) Romeo is showing the anger he had and how he intended to kill Tybalt.
In Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare the story shows that love/hate cannot be controlled. Love is a powerful emotion that can possessively take over anyone and hate is a rage of aggression that can take over anybody in a matter of seconds, love and hate is a feeling of emotion which brings out character. In the quote this demonstrates that Juliet is now in love with her so-called enemy and she stated that her only love that she wants to be with was once her only hate, and now she must love a loathed enemy, even if there is a family feud. ¨My only love sprung from my only hate! Too early seen unknown, and known too late!
Did the forces of love contribute more to Romeo’s death? Or did the forces of hatred have a stronger influence? Or both? I think that love and hatred were both strong and apparent causes of Romeo’s fate. I believe that if he had never met Juliet, or if he and Juliet’s families had never fought, that he probably wouldn't have died at such a young age.
Juliet’s family wanted Juliet to marry Paris so she had to hide her love for Romeo; knowing her parents weren’t going to be supportive for her relationship with Romeo. If there was not a family feud Romeo and Juliet wouldn’t have to hide there love for each other. The family feud is one of the main reasoning behind the deaths of Romeo and Juliet. Even though Romeo and Juliet committed suicide, their untimely deaths are ultimately caused by the fate and family
Juliet is part of the Capulet family and Romeo is a Montague, and these two families despise each other. In addition, Capulet and Lady Capulet get to pick who Juliet marries, and they don’t want her to marry Romeo, as he is a Montague. This love is freely
In William Shakespeare’s he writes a play telling a dramatic event of two lovers ‘’Romeo and Juliet’’ that have to keep their love a secret because of their family hatred for each other that will lead to a tragic event that will cause the two lovers to die. In William Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet” hate is shown to be stronger than love because Romeo kills Tybalt, Juliet dad was going to throw her in the streets and let her starve, die of hunger if she didn't marry Paris, and Romeo and Juliet die because of hate. One way hate is shown to be stronger than love in “Romeo and Juliet” is Romeo killed Tybalt. In Act 3 Scene 1 Tybalt wanted to fight Romeo because he hated him, but Romeo Tybalt. In Act 3 Scene 1 Tybalt wanted to fight Romeo
In my opinion I think that the feud between the two main families, the Capulets and the Montagues, is the most responsible for Romeo and Juliet’s death. The conflict between these two families is so distasteful that it causes Romeo and Juliet even more of a struggle as they try to find and keep their love. This conflict between the Capulets and the Montagues has been going on for a very long time and neither side is willing to make up for whatever may have happened in the past. Because of this a strong dislike is portrayed when someone sees a person from the opposite side. If the family feud wouldn’t have existed Romeo and Juliet would not have any large reason to hide their relationship.
For example, when Tybalt kills Mercutio Romeo is angry and kills Tybalt because he is filled with hatred. The reason that they even fight is because of a old dispute between the two families. This dispute is the cause of many fights between the two families. This long time dispute is caused by a mutual hate between the two families and is why hate is stronger than love in this story.
