Please Note: There are schools that are unable at this time to change from the prior four (4) to six (6) month course development timeline. CLI will work with those schools to move their course development timeline to six (6) months. On the Course Work Request Form, schools are required to identify the type of curriculum assistance that will be needed as a part of completing the form. The selection of the course development type is dependent on the percent of work that is required to complete the build process. The QA checklists (PAU and the ID QA checklists) are documents used to conduct a quality review of every course that goes through the course development process. The steps below outline the actions that are taken by the PD/Reviewer and instructional design staff members to complete the quality check approval process. 1. PD/Reviewer will review the course and must submit a signed QA Checklist to CLI 2. Two CLI instructional designers (instructional designer assigned to the project and another instructional design staff member) will review the course and submit feedback to PD 3. Feedback is addressed regarding any remaining concerns. A final review of requested updates will be conducted by PD/Reviewer. The PD/Reviewer needs to approve final updates made in the course. 4. A Course Development Feedback Survey will be emailed to the PD/Reviewer and course writer to receive feedback regarding their experience developing a course for IWU. Kick-off Meeting • Outline the scope of the project (confirm start and end dates, etc.) • Establish timelines for course material deliverables • Establish a communication process throughout the course build • Ensure the course writer has the appropriate documents (templates, etc.), and understands their role and responsibilities throughout this process • Discuss the course review process, and establish a timeline for this part of the project • Present an overview of Wrike (CLI’s project management system) that will be used throughout the course writing process • Obtain a final approval from PD for the course development timelines outlined for this project • Organize the information in Wrike Step 4.
