Re: Letter of Recommendation for Joshua Whiting To The RA Selection Committee: I write on behalf of Joshua Whiting’s application for a Resident Assistant position. I believe Josh to be an exemplary student-scholar as well as a person of tremendous character with significant leadership skills. I met Josh in my first semester of college in our biology class. We were both Biochemistry majors so we got to skip Biology 1 and therefore were both new to this new world of college but already in a group full of sophomores and students who had been in college for multiple semesters. Naturally we gravitated to each other due to this aspect we had in common.

Please accept my resume to showcase my interest in the position of Resident Assistant. I believe that I am an excellent candidate due to my leadership ability, my academic achievement, and my overall attitude. I am a firm believer in academia being the top priority while in college and I have proven this attitude through my performance over the past semester. As a Political Science and International Business double major at Monmouth College, who is on the Pre-Law track, I aspire to work in politics one day as a Political Campaign Manager. My academic attitude, I believe, is important for a Resident Assistant to hold because as a RA, one should be a role model for the other members of the hall.
1. Please describe any personal characteristics which you possess that make you qualified to be a Resident Assistant. What skills do you possess and what experiences have you had that might enhance your candidacy for the Resident Assistant position? a. As an individual, I find myself to be very accountable. Finding excuses to explain mistakes, in either personal or group work, reduces confidence in one’s abilities.
Resident Assistants serve many purposes and play many roles in the community. They help to build and promote a supportive and active community within their residence hall and across the campus, and offer support and guidance to their residents. This aids in making Geneseo feel more like home and a community rather than simply a school. RAs enforce Geneseo and Department of Student Life rules, while also being a more easily accessible and less intimidating resource to other students in need of help. I want to be an RA so that I can become more involved in the Geneseo community in a positive way, by helping and representing other students.
My placement was at Toronto Rehab at the Lyndhurst location. My placement started from March 6 to April 7 and my work hours are 8:30am to 4:30pm. From my previous intermediate placement, I had the opportunity to do an inventory of all mobility aides residents use at the LTC home.

With this experience, it had allowed me the space to utilize the skills that I have to acquire through my educational program while attending QCC. Essay #1 It seems like yesterday when I was in high school trying to figure out what I wanted to do with my future. When I thought about the career I would want to pursue I was having trouble picturing myself in the type of work I would be most satisfied in. Around this same time, I suffered a sports injury and had to receive physical therapy in order to heal. This is what initially got me interested in working in rehab.
Dear Dr. Cathleen Moore and the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences, I would like to be considered for your Graduate Teaching Assistant position that was posted on 10/31/2017. I believe that I would be a great fit for this position due to my experiences as a teacher and my academic background in psychology. One reason I would be a great fit for this position is because I once held what seems to be a nearly identical position in college. At Southern Illinois University (SIU), I served as an undergraduate Teaching Assistant for Introduction to Psychology under the tutelage of Dr. Meera Komarraju. In this position, I led a discussion section for a similar number of students that were mostly at the freshmen and sophomore level.
