I am writing this letter to express my sincere interest in the Kroc Institute’s scholarship at the University of Notre Dame, Masters of International Peace studies program. My choice for the Kroc Institute’s scholarship is highly motivated by the passion; I have towards peace, stability, justice and the institutional excellence in its unwavering commitment and achievement of peace and conflict resolution. The emphasis on conflict analysis and transformation particularly attracts my attention. Researchers discovered that violent video games affect how children see the world and change their thinking. For me this issue is very serious. Moreover, we have to focus on preaching about peace throughout the world. Please allow me to quote a saying from one of our world’s greatest peace advocate Mother Teresa “I will never attend an anti war rally; If you have a peace rally, invite me”. Even though it is hard to totally create a conflict free world, most conflicts can be resolved through dialogue and impartial discussions with the conflicting parties. I strongly believe we can guarantee peace by working together as hand and glove, for by their very nature peace and stability demands a strong bond. Our mediation should be impartial, participatory, engaging based on profound analysis and understanding. For this reason, I want to specialize in conflict analysis and transformation. It is clearly imperative that scholars from different levels and fields like myself should build capacity in this area to be able to undertake relevant impact on international Peace, mitigating the impacts caused due to conflict as well as designing appropriate and sustainable solution.
