The book I chose to read for my individual book report is called The Remarkable Journey of Coyote Sunrise, and it was written by Dan Gemeinhart, a children’s book author. The overarching theme of the book is to be courageous when facing any obstacles that may come your way, and that friends will always be there to help. It also touches on sadder themes, such as grief over the loss of loved ones. The many themes that the book focuses on help children understand certain feelings or events that occur throughout their lives and also show that there is hope waiting for them if they keep pushing forward. This symbolism is furthered by how sad Lester feels as he is forced to ride with Coyote to pursue his girlfriend and abandon his band, as well as the sorrow Salvador feels when he was never able to play his violin piece for his mother.
