On Friday night, the annual Ely TIgers vs. DIllard Panthers football game was played. On the last play of the 4th quarter, Donnell Wilson made a touchdown pass that won the game. Although some say that the catch was not that great, I think it was due to the fact that he passed his defensive back, leaped to make the catch,and scored the winning touchdown. Part of what made this a great catch was Donnell leaping into the air to catch it. “Wilson made a leaping catch and landed safely in the end-zone capping an improbable come from behind win for the Tigers.”
In the 19th century china and japan were under pressure when the west opened up foreign trade and relations. The industrial revolution created a wide gap between them and the west and left them behind in technology and the military. They both signed unequal treaties that forced them to open their ports and cities to foreign merchants. Both country's reacted very differently and this will be the topic of this essay.

What Bauerlein fails to talk about is the fact that every generation has a negative input or opinion on the next generation. He also fails to talk about the curriculum before the 90s is not the same as it is now. Bauerlein is wrong when he implies that he is not here to insult the youth, but to give light on the current intellectual situations. Bauerlein says that the Millennials “may even be recalled as the generation that lost the great American heritage, forever.” This takes an almost I-am-better-than-you tone as he describes the, in his point of view, generation that will fail

I disagree with you. I believe that the colonists were not justified in resisting the British policies after the French and Indian War. As you stated, a country has a right to tax its own people and to enforce laws. Do you not agree then that it was okay for the colonists to have to be taxed too, since they had moved from England to America to live as British citizens? The colonists desired to be treated like every other British citizen, but at the same time, they did not think it was fair for them to pay taxes.

The presentation, Generations and the Next America, by Paul Taylor, provided great insight to how our country will continue to grow and change in the coming years. As the United States continues to go through changes in size and diversity, so do the demographics of the country. With each new generation, comes new behaviors and patterns, which will force society to accept more behaviors and lifestyles. The changes in demographics in the United States is good for the social climate. Less than 60 years ago, many of the behaviors and lifestyles that are accepted and recognized, were not.

With Cinqo living in a unit and not a real father figure to teach him how to be a man, he was gathered into a gang, a feared gang among the parts he stayed, passed down by their pre-accesors; they called it Bar-OX, we called it mYo.
After separating from Britain the founding fathers formed the Articles of Confederation. The Articles of Confederation and its ideas ended up being a disaster in the founders picture of a functioning government. With no right to tax citizens the national and state governments they could not raise money. This caused serious civil unrest an led to the drafting of the constitution in 1781. The constitution brought about many important changes, with the most influential on politics being checks and balances.
I believe the impetus behind the exploration and colonization in the era of European exploration was for multiple different incentives for example, wealth, religion, and fame. Moreover, wealth and power were obtained through trading goods, valuables, gold, silver, lands, and colonies. In addition, looking for the Northwest Passage to Asia and fur trading were critical factors that defined the wealth aspect. Also, converting Native Americans to Roman Catholicism played a significant role in the expansion of colonies. Furthermore, the English came to America in search for freedom of religion.
According to Anya Kamenetz in the article “Generation Debt,” young people of today are struggling with high debt due to high educational finances and this is preventing them to move on as responsible adults. College tuitions are too high to pay that young people fall into applying for student loans, and have significant credit card debt with high balances. Most students are using their credit cards to pay for their college expenses and student loans; even their paychecks are being used to pay for college. I agree that many young people held back in becoming a full adult which they are doing everything they can just to continue their education. Even if it means to continue living at home with parents just to make ends meets and not being able to step in the “fully adulthood.”
More than four in ten of 16-24 year-old first generation Hispanics have not finished high school and are not enrolled in school, compared to 17 percent of second generation and 22 percent of third generation Hispanics. More than half of Hispanic immigrants do not have at least a high school diploma, twice the rate of native-born Hispanics (Fry, 2010). Hispanic adults who have recently arrived to the United States are not much better educated than Hispanic immigrants who have been in the United States for decades. Although, with the exception of adults who arrived before 1970, a majority of Hispanic immigrant’s in 2008 were high school dropouts.
The article “The Me Me Me Generation” by Joel Stein mentions how Millennials are a self-centred generation who have been raised with many participation awards and parents who mistakenly believed that strengthening their self-esteem was they key to success rather than focusing more on strengthening up their character and skills. Stein mentions that the younger generation lives mostly through screens, whether those on phones, iPad’s, or computers, and believes someway that it is entitled to success without experiencing the rough situations in lifetime. Stein also presented studies showing that the incidence of narcissistic personality disorder among Millennials is massive. Stein concludes the article by mentioning that this has not taken him by surprise, because this began with their parents’ generation, the Baby Boomers, or known as the “Me Generation.” Millennials seek to make their own mark on the world.
