Crash. Kay wondered what the sound came from. The noise sounded like a broken glass, as if someone knocked a glass of the table, but she was pretty sure no one was home. Unless Jake came home which she kind of wish she didn’t because she preferred being alone. Not that she didn’t like Jake he was nice enough but he was a little off. The week was weird for Kay and she didn’t quite know how to feel about it. But for now all she could was sit in her own shower-bath, something she never had and something she came to appreciate very much. It was a nice shower it was light blue and matched the whole room. Only the shower was big enough to be its own room and Kay often times found herself falling asleep in there, as she just was. Before she heard …show more content…
“Why?” Kay asked. Jake looked at her with a look that she couldn’t quite decipher. “Because i was gonna throw my friend, who is a cop, a surprise birthday party and i don’t want him finding out.” Kay was confused. “Why do you think.”He was being sarcastic but she didn’t really get it. “Anyways if someone ever breaks in, which could happen seeing how drugged up this town is now. There is a gun up in my room in a safe. It's by the bathroom and the combination is nine, seven, one. Have you ever shot a gun before.” She had, a few times actually. “Yeah i have, but i'm not going to touch your gun. I won't call the cops either, no one is going to break into your house.” “Ok but just so you know it's there. I’m leaving for the weekend for business stuff now and i won't be back until monday.Be, love you” he said walking out the door. “ Love you to” Kay said and jake left. It was a little weird because Jake has never said that to her. In reality though Jake was all that she had. No one else who was in her life still is. She still loved her mom but she was gone. She missed her friends, but would she ever really see them again or reconnect with them at some point. She didn’t know. For now Jake was the only person taking care of …show more content…
Was it really haunted? That kid at school had told her that someone had died while making it and there had been a number of accidents to the previous owner since it was made. Kay asked Jake about it and he said that the people in this town were crazy and that she shouldn’t listen to what they say. A number of weird things have happened since that glass fell. Four birds have crashed into the front window and died, on the same day. Every once in awhile Kay is convinced she is hearing music. Its distant and faint but she swears she can hear it, and she's looked all over the place for what it is coming from but she can’t find it. The house has really started to creep her out. On top of that the kid at school said that most of its old owners are dead now. You wouldn’t expect a nice, modern house to be haunted but the longer she stayed here the more and more she got convinced. Now she was alone until monday. The stress of living in a haunted house by yourself was too much for Kay. She decided to sleep in Jake's room because it was less scary. Also Kay was convinced he had the nicest bed in the world. Plus there was a gun nearby if the ghosts got any ideas. Kay looked in a cabinet in Jake's own bathroom and sure enough it was stalked to the brim with prescription bottles. This is why he doesn’t want the police to come over she thought to herself. This would get him in some major trouble. Normally Kay wouldn’t have looked twice at
