General Information about Creatine Creatine is a chemical that is normally found in a person’s muscles. It is made by the body and can also come from certain foods. This supplement helps the body make energy for the muscles to work. Creatine is known today as a sport enhancing supplement for athletes. Creatine comes from 3 amino acids. These amino acids are glycine, arginine and methionine. These amino acids form together to become a phosphocreatine. Creatine is used by athletes and body builders that are anaerobically fit to perform better during high-intensity activities. This supplement is often mixed with water or a sports drink and can be ingested as a pill or most commonly used as a powder (Fitness, 2013).
Creatine is an acid that is absorbed from the intestines and then absorbed into the blood stream. This supplement is synthesized in the liver and pancreas. There are some effects that creatine can cause to the body. Creatine is naturally made in the body and taking too much of it can cause problems. When creatine is ingested, it causes the muscles to draw water for the rest of the body and this can cause dehydration. If a person is using creatine, they should drink a lot of fluids to keep dehydration from occurring (Fitness, 2013).

I think creatine can help enhance sport performance for specific tasks because studies have shown positive effects for the use of this
