Trevor Hintz April 17, 2018 Book Report CRIM 2080 After reading this book, I found out a lot more information about this case. Before than the only things I new about this case was the person being prosecuted, the murder weapon, and that the victims body was never found. I found out about the relationship stuff that led up to the murder. The first few chapters of the book talked about this, it brought up a very confusing and complicated love triangle that Christopher Edwards was in. The book also talked about that Jessica told Edwards that she was pregnant. What made this situation more complicated was the fact that Edwards’s girlfriend Michelle was also pregnant. Another problem they had with this case was that they didn’t have a body. Jessica’s body was nowhere to be found. Another thing that I found interesting while reading this book that this was the first case in Nebraska that involved a murder where there was no body to be found. And that these types of cases usually take around seven to ten years to solve. After reading that I was also surprised to learn that the trial against Edwards took place around a year after he was arrested. I ended up finding an article from the Lincoln Journal Star. The article is from March 23, 2010 and it says that David Kofoed was convicted of tampering with evidence after prosecutors accused him of planting blood evidence that resulted in two men being wrongly charged of a double murder.
