Crispin: Similarities Between Faith And Religion

No matter our faith and religion, we all have differences and similarities. Recently, I’ve been reading a book that introduces a catholic teenage boy named Crispin who lived around the medieval ages and gets accused of theft and murder. Throughout the book, he learns about freedom, bravery, and his true identity, but I’ve also noticed how Faith and religion also played an essential role in Crispin’s adventure in the book. While reading, I noticed that regarding Crispin and I’s faith, we have differences and similarities, such as how Crispin grew up in a Christian family, while I didn’t, but we both pray to God for help and guidance.

However, I converted to a Christian. Crispin lived during the medieval times which probably affected him of what religion he believed in. As history tells us, the medieval ages is when a lot of Europeans believed in Christianity and also tried to spread it to groups of non-believers around the world. Crispin and other people’s villages believed in the village patron and Crispin believes in his village patron, which is Saint Giles, as page 33 explains. As I explained in the previous paragraph, I come from a Hindu family so I grew up being Hindu. I was taught only about Hinduism and as a little kid, I obeyed my parents and chose to follow what they told me to. We both pray to God asking for help, protection, and guidance. In the book, we encounter Crispin praying to God a lot when he faces trouble. One of the examples is set on page 25. After Crispin was told that he needed to pay his mother’s death tax, he ran away. However, while running away, he didn’t just run away to a place and hope that he will be safe. He prayed to God asking for help and protection if he gets captured and killed by John Aycliffe. As how Crispin prayed to God for help and protection, I also pray to God whenever I am facing difficulties. Lately, I have been struggling with personal matters and I have been praying to God to help me get over the stress and pressure. For example, I have been stressed over assignments since It is almost the end of the school year and God has been my answer to my prayers because slowly, he is guiding me to finish the time-taking assignments. I can say that if you were to compare Crispin and I, we both show our faith in God similarly, and it is by
