When we hear, needs assessment we think about the importance of decisions and how it effects on what needs to be done and how it can be managed. When a problem is created, there has to be a properly designed solution that can simply address a certain policy or program that can work well with the plan. However, it can be critical because there needs to be an accurate understanding of how the problem has been created. Needs assessment has a plan that needs to be followed, which lies under design, data, analysis, and reporting. Homeless youth is a prime example of a real world experience. The drastic surge in the number of homeless families in the United States (U.S.) has resulted in an increase in the number of homeless students attending U.S. public schools (Elbedour, Mai, Rahman & Turner, 2015, para.1. However, the problem goes deeper due to the fact that our public schools are struggling drastically. They are struggling because they are having a hard time meeting the educational needs of our homeless youth. The main objective that this organization is trying to get us to understand is that social conditions have indeed impacted the factors of their education. Despite the enormous challenges homeless youth face, some manage to successfully graduate from high school (Elbedour, Mai, Rahman & Turner, 2015, para.4). However, our homeless you may not have the right amount of connections or structures needed to further their education, but they are capable of utilizing the resources that are offered to them. In time, The Improve Group plans to provide more resources for the homeless youth. Foster care is the best resource because it allows our homeless youth to have a second chance at life and completing education with a great amount of support. In these cases the main reason we must know why this does occur is because of abandonment. This can happen because of abuse, and lack of parent responsibility. We also have teens that runaway from home. Homeless youth are at a higher risk for physical abuse, sexual exploitation, mental health disabilities, substance abuse, and death (NCSL, 2016, para.1). The estimated of unaccompanied youth is around 5,000 who die each year from assault, illness and even suicide. The Improve Group has managed many studies, but the data collection resembles each other. It is known that the data that has been collected allows us to keep an open mind due to the fact that homeless youth has increased since 2005. Between 2005 and 2008, the National Runaway Switchboard saw a 200 percent increase in calls from youth indicating economic reasons for running away from home (NCSL, 2016, para.2). The data also reports that the numbers have increased when it comes to our youth getting kicked out from home and not having any family to go too. Studies have shown
