Leadership, a word associated with bold and recorded act of an individual that made a lasting impact in some shape or form. In times such as trial and new beginning, great leaders emerge which are sometime immortalized by the passing time due to their legacy; however, not all who lead are necessarily bold and can lost in time and the ideology of the day. This is the case of Abigail Adam. Abigail Adam is woman hailed as a hero of feminism due to her personal writing to her famous husband, John Adams. Yet, when came to her actual work as a mother and the First Lady, she isn’t quite hailed as the ideal feminists.
Unit 1, served to introduce the multiple roles of an Early Childhood teacher and the ability to function effectively in these capacities; in order to meet the holistic needs of children in the field. Emphasis was placed also, on various factors that affect the early childhood practice and there importance, as it relates to the overall responsibility for child development. As we delved further into the topics surrounding this unit, valuable group and class discussions were sparked and meaningful content extracted. Such content sought to highlight the importance of early childhood teachers in creating an integrated teaching and learning environment to assist students with making connections and finding meaning through educational processes.
Over the past 20 years, the workforce identity of the early years setting has changed dramatically. Policy and governmental changes have inspired children led improvements and this has affected the identity of the Early Years Teacher. In 1997 the Labour Government outlined their commitment to improving quality within the early years setting and one of the main areas they concentrated on was the quality of staff within the settings. This resulted in the view that 'quality' was qualified. In 2007, Labour introduced the graduate role of the Early Years Practitioner, which aimed to raise the falling standards within the early year’s settings.
In this essay I will be considering how innovations in theory, policy and research have influenced the development of coordination, partnership and integration in childhood practice in my childcare setting in Scotland. I will analyse the development of policies concerning children and young people in relation to my setting and the professional groups involved within my setting. This will include the introduction of building the ambition and the Children and Young People (Scotland) Act 2014, which from 2016 will enforce the need for the named person to take any concerns seriously and report as required. It will also increase provision to 600 hours which in turn will help to safeguard vulnerable two year olds by placing them into early year’s
Leadership is the ability of one to organize or lead a group of people. A leader should be respectful, a leader is bound to know what goal is attempted to be reached. We create a positive and secure environment, working to ensure all children feel safe, appreciated and important. We do this by being inclusive, treating each child as an individual and promoting mutual respect. One of the most natural factors of being an Early Years Practitioner is nurturing the children in our care, this is salient in creating healthy attachments in children. Practicing within a professional capacity in an early childhood education setting is a complex and challenging career choice for all within this sector. The function of the adult is of fundamental importance in achieving quality in both provision of the service and in the experiences of young children. An early childhood education setting should be recognised and developed as a learning environment, not only for the children but also for the adults staffing it. Following my completion of school, I have engaged in both leadership and learning roles which have demonstrated to me, as they will to you why I am suitable to be a primary school teacher. Through my role as an out of school hours (OOSH) carer, I have been engaged in both learning in leadership activities. I have demonstrated skills in organisation, planning, and interpersonal communication, through working with groups of over 20 children. My personal learning activities within this role have led me to better myself in areas of controlling group settings, handling differing children’s needs, and managing behaviour. Organisation of tasks including assisting in developing weekly programs, and carrying out daily activities such as group time, demonstrates my enthusiasm for working with children and providing an engaging and safe space for them to be.

Introduction In early childhood education, it is important for teachers to always consider and understand children and the families’ needs. Early childhood teachers cannot only work with their colleagues to face children and the families’ needs but also need to work with multi-disciplinary to collaborate the ideas with each other and discuss the best outcome for the children and the families in early childhood education setting together. So, the more explanation about the multi-disciplinary team is that teachers with different professionals such as psychologists, child social worker, police, adult social worker, health visitor or court working together to provide different services and support for children and the families’ needs. They are diverse professional groups who work together in order to collaborate, reflect, access and support children’s development, health and learning and also families' needs.
