Another very important aspect of an organization’s cultural lens is the way in which individuals in an organization are socialized to the company culture. There are generally 7 different variations of this socialization that are all crucial in gaining a deeper understanding of company’s cultural bases. The first aspect of the lens is the idea of a Group vs. an Individual. Even though, in case with Rogers, employees in an organization have a choice to either work in groups or to work individually on their assigned tasks, their predominant structure is “individual” since only one employee can provide a solution to a customer. Self-enhancing, this cultural methodology is one that is used by organizations to either help grow an employee and an individual or take them apart and put them back in a particular and improved way. Again, there is a notable trend in the Rogers workplace, and that is one that encircles, nurture and kindness. As of such Rogers represents a very friendly environment and allows for its employees to self-enhance, rather than reconstruct. As evident with the above analysis of the organization’s choice of socializing to the culture, Rogers aims to place itself as an organization that embraces kindness and nurtures its employees into a better and happier work environment. This is opposed to other places such as law firms where getting ahead and competition are a much more important metrics than kindness and getting along. Though both are equally effective if done properly, Roger’s choice of socializing its employees reflects an organization that values the prospect of a united team, allowing for an informal attitude at work, while creating an environment of healthy competition rather than tournament.
