3.1. DIFFERENT TYPES OF NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS.
McSween (no date: ¶1) claims that there are various types of non-profit organizations according to Boardsource. These types of non-profit organizations are services they provide to publics, feeding the homeless, foundations, tutoring children and even providing scholarships.
McSween et al (no date: ¶1) Public charities are non-profit organizations which provide free and low-cost services such as providing training for children or workshops for the unemployed. They can be funded through the government and corporations. Churches, hospitals, museums and rotary clubs are examples of public charities. Another non-profit organization would be foundations, which sponsor a number events and programs in society and often fund other non-profit organizations. Foundations can be given to community groups, businesses or even families.

Many non-profit organizations find it difficult to keep up with the increase in demand for their services. Approximately 52 per cent did not meet the demand for their services, stated by The Non-profit Fi¬nance Fund’s annual survey in 2012. Another challenge non-profit organization face is technology. A report from John Hopkins indicated that non-profit organizations do not have enough computers to meet their basic needs. One third of non-profit organizations have a limited usage of information technologies for programs or services. Lastly, leadership can pose another challenge for non-profit organizations. Non-profit organizations feel that they might have a lack of resources and opportunities to develop their leadership skills. Leadership is very important aspect for the effectiveness of a non-profit organization, without it, many people may suffer who rely on the organization, directly and indirectly on the services and social value non-profit organizations provide. A budget and specific needs may also be a huge challenge for a non-profit organization in terms of finding the correct customer relationship management
