Cyberbullying in America Do you have a computer, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or even mail? If so, you can be cyber bullied at anytime, anywhere. Cyber bullying is the use of electronic communication to bully a person, typically by sending messages of an intimidating or threatening nature. Examples of cyber bullying include mean text, messages or emails, rumors sent by email or posted on social networking sites, and embarrassing pictures, videos, websites, or fake profiles. So how can we prevent cyber bullying? Teens, parents and government, etc., can take certain steps to prevent cyber bullying.

You can start by talking to kids about the issue and teaching them the rules below that will help prevent cyberbullying from happening to them or someone they know. Victims of cyber bullying exhibit warning signs that parents should watch for, such as aggression, symptoms of withdrawal and lower grades than usual. In the article of What Parents can do about cyber bullying it says “ Parents can do the following to prevent children from being a victim: 1. Keep your home computer in a busy area of your house. 2. Set up email and chat accounts with your children. Make sure that you know their screen names and passwords and that they don 't include any personal information in their online profiles. 3. Regularly go over their instant messenger " Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc. " with them. 4. Ask who each person is and how your children know him or her. 5. Print this list of commonly used acronyms in instant messenger and chat rooms from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and post it by your computer. 6. Discuss cyber bullying with your children and ask if they have ever experienced it or seen it happen to someone. 7. Tell your children that you won 't blame them if they are cyber bullied. 8. Emphasize that you won 't take away their computer privileges - this is the main reason kids don 't tell adults when they are cyber
