I looked up a case of cyberstalking through the virtual library. This article was titled Cyberstalking Nightmare. The article was written by Matt Gutman and was originally on Good Morning America. The article is about a man whose ex-girlfriend ruined his life. This was done through cyberstalking. The man who was the cyberstalking victim Is named Joe Good. The article starts out explaining how Joe had just broken up with his girlfriend at the time. Joe then received a phone call from his ex-girlfriend asking him if that is what he really wants. She then proceeded to tell him that she has everything lined up and that she was going to ruin him. He then got a text message saying that his yahoo password had been changed. The cop had a photo of Tawny and in the picture she looked pretty beaten up. Joe of course didn’t do it and told the cops she must have done that to herself. Joe is arrested anyway and the judge ordered a protection order against him. Tawny then continues to cyberstalk by spoofing which means she somehow knew a trick to get Joe’s number to show up on her phone and she even had made up voice mails in which she said were from Joe. In these messages it sounds like Joe is threatening Tawny with a gun and was saying he should have killed her. He then is fired from his job. Tawny then calls a Florida abuse hotline and tells them that Joe had sex with his daughter and provided children with alcohol. She also told them that his colleague was doing those things also, even though she never met him before.
Tawny then proceeded to cyberstalk Joe’s new girlfriend by sending letters through the mail saying she will burn down her house made death threats against his girlfriend’s daughter. In the end, Tawny ended up getting nine years in prison, house arrest, and probation. Joe is still having trouble finding a job because he was wrongfully arrested three times in all of the
