The D-Day Describe the scene as you approach Omaha beach for the D-day landing. I remember the day, you can call it the D-day but for me, it was 6 June 1944. At the end of that day, there were 425,000 people who died a horrible death. It all started when all the soldiers were standing in the crowded ship, there were 7,000 ships altogether and all of them were all drizzly and it was very hard to stand on the floor because it was slippery also the waves hitting the ships were making people drop to the floor and on their knees. Everyone was sinking and slanting on each other. We all were just like a bunch of penguins, waiting for the doors to open. Never knew what I was going for at the time and the word war did not mean much to me. Seeing him being shot have made me realise that anyone could have been in his place, even me, this realisation opened my eyes and made me afraid of the whole situation. The soldier was shot in his heart from like a half a mile away. Such a long distance and a successful shot made me think that anything is possible. Shocked and looking pallid. The water was blue but then turned red as the soldier was drowning yet floating in his own blood. Cannot even describe how petrifying this image looked like. Having a mindful of depressing, horrendous and discouraging images I could not speak or even think no more. Had to imagine myself being shot many times and been afraid that there is a chance to lose my family which was almost the only thing that motivated me to succeed and go back home. Uneasily tried my hardest to stand up for people in this horrible situation and wished that all of this was not meaningless to people I went on and on to succeed in this horrific
