There is a Danish Proverb that says “A man does not look behind a door unless he has stood there himself.” What this proverb is saying is that people don’t consider others’ feelings unless they have been in a similar situation as that person. Empathy is the ability to share the feelings of others. This proverb says that humans can’t understand the feelings of another person unless they have been in the same place as that person.
