Dave Matthews Band: A Visual Analysis

There is one specific picture in my room that represents me in every way, shape, and form. This picture is of the historic Rock of Cashel located deep in Ireland’s beautifully green countryside. The photo was of a large chunk of stone and brick that had fallen from one of the steeples after a severe storm. The chunk was the back wall of the king’s suite and the ceiling of the once immaculate chapel below.
The picture also has many different subtle colors and variances in architecture. However, the most amazing thing about the picture is the one daisy that grew through the stone and moss and fought its way to sunlight. The two items that reminded me the most of home were the picture from Ireland and the Live at Red Rocks 1995 album by Dave Matthews Band. There was always a full feeling of reminiscence and exuberance that resulted and propelled me to achieve great things that year. After the thanksgiving holiday, I started to like North Carolina. The leaves changed and I had changed for the better. I loved being alone with my thoughts and putting them down on paper. I enjoyed thinking about my future and discovering new bands and indie movies. My new life, with little to no friends, had transitioned from utterly depressing to undoubtedly bright.
I propelled through their ignorance and tried out for the jazz band and the varsity baseball team. I made both of them and continued on my path for self-improvement and self-discovery. I had a great baseball season in which I made 2nd team all division and helped our team win sectionals. I played my saxophone wonderfully in jazz band and performed many solos throughout the spring. I started to mentor my brothers on how to cope with the drastic change of scenery. They weren’t adjusting as well as I had been at that point and it was only right to pass on what I had
