JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A local man has been charged with murder in the death of his boss and allegedly assumed control of his business after burying him in a shallow grave on the Southside of Jacksonville in December of last year, according to Assistant Chief Chris Butler with Jacksonville Sheriff's Office. Police say Richard Greene, 44, of Jacksonville, killed Clyde King for economic reasons and then buried him in a shallow grave on the 11000 block of St. John's Industrial Parkway on the city's Southside. Greene was the only employee of 72-year-old King at his business, King's Lawn Service. According to authorities, after King was murdered, Greene assumed control of his lawn care business. Greene is a registered sex predator and wears a GPS tracking device on his ankle. The PO noticed Greene went to Southside and went to that location. There he saw the shallow grave. From King's remains, medical examiners were able to pull an implanted defibrillator and download the logs - those logs took note of cardiac incidents within King's heart. Doctors then determined that the cause of death was brought on by suffocation or smothering. The PO then assisted police in mapping Greene's movements through the GPS tracker. The map created lined up with King's defibrillator's last logged event on the morning of December 4, 2014. Greene was with King, who originally said he found the body in King's home. Police said they believe Greene smothered King. Greene is also facing 10 charges of fraud and theft in addition to the murder charge. Greene who has a former criminal record was charged for the murder of his 72 year-old boss Clyde King. Clyde owned his own landscaping company that goes by the name of King’s Lawn Services and Richard Greene was his only employee. However it was claimed that Greene murdered his boss last December in hopes of retaining the company. Clyde was killed last December and his body was discovered mid January of this year thanks to the help of Greene’s parole officer.
