Throughout history, there have been many different stories that have defined humanity. The one that is the most universal are the stories told in the bible. This text is considered to be the most important “historical” piece of literature the world has. The question is, are they true, fabrications, or bits of history thrown together to make a compelling moral based story?
I grew up learning to believe that the bible is fictitious piece of work with no historical value at all. It was something that was told to me everyday from a very young age. I personally do not believe much in what the bible actually says in regards to its many miraculous aspects to be true but, I do have an open mind and I think like with all stories there must be some truth embedded into them. This I believe is true because there has been some archeological evidence found that supports me on this. The evidence comes from the discovery villages, ruins, tombs, and many other things to determine that there must be some basis of truth to the stories that are told. The main piece of evidence that was found at Tel Dan in 1993 was a tablet that bore the words “House of David”. Although there had been pottery mentioning David’s name that was found, this was the first piece of serious archeological evidence that proved the existence of the founder of the Judean dynasty and that he ruled around that time.
