In 1978, Larry Hicks was convicted on two counts of murder and was sentence to death. At 19 years old, Hicks was attending a local party at a neighbor’s apartment. At the party Hicks was spotted waving a knife and it raised awareness by the attendees. As the party continued a fight broke out in the apartment and two men were murdered by severe stabbing with a knife. When law enforcement officials rushed to the crime scene, eyewitness testimony declared Hicks and Bernard Scates as a primary suspects.
The case I pick was about Chad Heins. He was wrongfully convicted of murdering his sister-in-law in northern Florida. Chad Heins was exonerated on December 4, 2007, due to DNA evidence proving that another man committed the crime. On April 17, 1994, Tina Heins was brutally stabbed to death. Chad lived with his sister-in-law and brother Jeremy.
"Mama June" Shannon, formerly of the hit reality series Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, just learned the hard way not to come between her children and their money. TMZ reports that Anna Cardwell, June's 20-year-old daughter, filed a lawsuit against Mama June. Mama June and the TLC network claimed that accounts were set up to make sure every cast member of Here Comes Honey Boo Boo received all money owed to them. Not so says Anna Cardwell. According to Anna, Mama June pocketed some of the money meant for her and her daughter, Kaitlyn, who is a co-plaintiff of the lawsuit.

Facts: Houston Police Officer Linda Williamson was working in the Organized Crime Squad and was sometimes assigned to partner with fellow Officer Doug McLeod. Williamson alleged that over an eighteen month period, McLeod harassed her every day creating a hostile work environment. More specifically, Williamson stated that McLeod conducted obvious and demeaning inspections of her appearance. He made comments to her on how her body looked in different clothes and remarked specifically on the appearance of her buttocks and the size of her breasts.
February 23, 1983 a man walked into a house with no good intention but to burglarize it. Home during all this was Jeanine Nicarico who was home alone resting because she had the flu. She was taken from her home and raped two days later she was found dead. Jeanine was only 10 years old. The only clue left at the crime scene was a boot print.
This was a very brutal murder, it was a murder of a six year-old. It was a female named Jon Benet Ramsey. She was murdered on December 25, 1996. Authorities say that she was stabbed by a train track piece, and she was struck in the head by a flashlight. She died by the flashlight to the head but somebody tied her up to make it look like she was choked to death.
WOOSTER — Wayne County Commissioner Ann Obrecht stepped back in time, in a manner of speaking, as the former school teacher gave a lesson in county government to a group of home-schooled students prior to the commissioners’ business meeting Wednesday. The students were from the Apostolic church, said Pam Zollinger, as she introduced the group during the meeting. The seventh- through 12th-grade students spent part of the day learning about how county government operates, and they toured the Wayne County Dispatch Center, aka 8500, after they left the commissioners.
With those eyewitness testimonies, the prosecution won the case and Darryl Hunt was sentenced to life in prison. A few years into his sentence, Hunt and his attorney appealed the conviction in the North Carolina Supreme Court. Hunt won because the prosecution relied on the testimony of his girlfriend at the time, after she retracted the statement. He was released on bond in 1989 with a pending trial. The prosecution offered him a plea deal.

Figure skating can be extremely competitive, especially when it comes to the two well-known skaters, Tonya Harding and Nancy Kerrigan. These two had been figure skating since a very young age, and they both were constantly progressing. However, on January 6th, 1994, Nancy Kerrigan was attacked by a baton in the back of her knee, causing her extreme pain. This attack occurred two days before the Olympic trials, which meant she may not be able to compete (Source C). Harding ended up receiving a large fine, probation, community service, and banned from skating ever again after she admitted to hindering the prosecution.
I ended up finding an article from the Lincoln Journal Star. The article is from March 23, 2010 and it says that David Kofoed was convicted of tampering with evidence after prosecutors accused him of planting blood evidence that resulted in two men being wrongly charged of a double murder. (Lincoln Journal Star). Kofoed would face up to 5 years in prison and a $10,000 fine (Lincoln Journal Star). The prosecution provided their claims, and so did the defense. After calling their witnesses onto the stand, the jury was left with an important task. Ken Fitzhugh deserves to be put behind bars for first-degree murder. The blood and the motive sealed his fate. First, a piece of evidence that supports my position was the blood evidence.
