and I wanted to get as much out of my high school experience as I could. My freshman and sophomore years I took a complete honors class schedule. Although the homework load was intense, it tested my ability to manage my class and homework schedule with my extracurriculars. During this same period, I was a member of the Akron Youth Symphony (AYS), I received two private bass lessons each week, I performed with the Northeast Ohio Regional and the Ohio State Orchestras, I was a member of my high school pit orchestra, I volunteered to coach elementary school musicians, I was a member of my high school jazz band and jazz combo, I played various jazz and orchestra gigs around the Akron and Cleveland areas, I maintained a 3.76
I am competitive; I look for the chance to run the extra mile. My competitive nature has aided in everything I commit myself to. Regardless if I am participating in a sporting event, competing for a solo in a musical production, or preparing for a final, I will indubitably devote my time and efforts to perform as well as possible. I take every opportunity that is presented to me and attempted to better not only myself but my community as well. I am confident that the Honors College at the College of Charleston will enable me to devote my attention to my studies, become actively involved within campus activities and academic assemblies, and offer my time and abilities to charitable events and organizations.
It is already known that I am a diligent and successful student, like all of the other nominees for the National Honor Society. What makes me different and unique from the other nominees is my my sense of commitment. At Xavier, I take part in multiple extracurricular activities including clubs and sports. Thanks to the addition of the community period, I have been able to join almost ten different clubs. A couple of these clubs, such as the Surfing, Engineering, and Student Leadership Council, were originally founded within the past two years.
National Junior Honors Society As an individual i have a lot of good qualities, like being a leader and helping people when they need it or standing up for what i know is right. I have a lot of good qualities and I think that my good qualities should be spread throughout my school and community. I am fond of being a leader. If someone told me that I would be a dance major and study at The College at Brockport during my sophomore year of high school, I probably would have thought them to be crazy. Dancing was never meant to be in the picture and it was something that I stumble upon towards my final weeks as a sophomore. I had a choice to between tennis or taking a dance class to fulfill my P.E. requirements. I eventually chose dance and it create a new path for me. Unfortunately, I decided that I want to go into communication during my freshman year at El Paso Community College.
The Dance Education Laboratory interests me because we have nothing like it here in Texas. I Recently I got to attend NDEO’s convention that was in Texas, and on my first day I felt like I was at Disney world. As silly as it sounds, I was so excited to shop around and learn from other dance educators. I left feeling so full and inspired, and I realized that my hope and dream for dance education in Texas was to be like what I experienced at NDEO. I want dance education in Texas public schools to be as holistic and comprehensive.
For the last 10 years, I have been a professional ballet dancer at American Ballet Theatre. This career path has enabled me to travel the world, dancing in some of the most magnificent opera houses, accompanied with to some of the most accomplished musicians. Ballet was my first love and childhood dream and to see it through has been the most fulfilling and exciting journey. Being a ballet dancer is not a long career, so seizing the opportunity whilst I was young, meant I put my education on hold while I perused my passion. When the pandemic shut the world down, with stages and theaters closed, my life’s work felt meaningless.
I am looking for more than just academics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. During my four years at Northwood High School, I became involved in numerous academic and extracurricular activities. As a result, I have been recognized and honored for achievements both inside and outside of school. I realize that titles and academic achievements are limited, but some of the impact I have on my community and other people’s lives is what really matters. Therefore, I plan to continue my active involvement in extracurricular activities while I am a college student.
That is why I love beam because I am amazing at it. Then it wa off to the floor the hardest event because it puts so much pressure on your body and mental pressure. We were warming up and everyone was doing great for their tumbling passes, turns, and dancing. Everyone on my team was before me which means I was the last one on my team to go which gives me more pressure to do great since I got to watch every routine over and over. I loved floor because it is

Dance has been a vital part of my life since the seventh grade. Spending my summers at intensives and my afternoons commuting an hour to the studio, I have willingly dedicated all my energy. Dance has been a source of motivation, gratification, and inspiration, leading me to pursue this art form at a higher level. With ambitions of one day finding a company where I can share my passion for dance through performance and movement, Indiana University will help prepare and challenge me through a rigorous program. Specifically, the University would allow me to transfer the knowledge learned in class to the stage through the opportunity to perform.
There is a variety of sports to get into, but I thought that getting into well-recognized clubs would definitely make me look like an accomplished student. I started off by signing up for National Honors Society. I knew that in middle school I was part of the junior society and I expected to get
My high school is highly competitive and I’m grateful that I was surrounded by such wonderful peers and teachers. Completing high school, I received 12th place out of almost 450 students, with a weighted GPA of 4.244. Despite my hard course load,
After I opened up to my teacher and she told me all of the amazing fundraising opportunities, it was decided; I was going to try out for the competition team. I was never the best dancer, but I was still pretty good at the branches of dance that I did. I was ecstatic when I found out I made the team; it was like the world stopped spinning for a minute. That was
