In the short story “The Lady or the Tiger” one of the themes was no matter what decision you make you could have always picked a different one. This shows me that you should think long and hard before you make your decision. When the princess has to decide if she will let her lover die or get married to another it makes me think about the decisions that I have to make. Decisions when it comes to school, friends, and hockey. Firstly when I think about the theme of the story and when the princess has to decide what she wants to do with her lover it makes me think about how I had to make that same decision when it comes to school. When she had to make the decision she had to think long and hard about what she was going to do. She slept on it for many nights. Then she came to her conclusion. Lastly, when I think about this theme it makes me think about hockey. When I first started hockey people would look at me weirdly. They would ask if I'm in the right place. They didn't expect to see a girl. When I tell people that I play they ask really and give me looks. This happens especially when I am playing co-ed with checking. People won't check me and are like “I can't hit a girl”. They make me want to quit hockey and just find something more “girly”. It makes me think about why I picked to play this sport in the first place. I am happy with this sport. Yes, people may give me dirty looks and question if I'm in the right place. The theme and short story helped me say yes I made the right decision I love playing and I don't care what other people think about
