Every 4th of July my family and I, much like many other families in America gather for some good traditional fun in the sun! On this day each year the smell of BBQ, fireworks, and sometimes even gun smoke can almost be guaranteed to fill the air from dusk to dawn. Although, the majority of Americans celebrate this day, and it is a National Holiday there are people who don’t know the true reason, as to why it is celebrated, especially our children. This day, also known as “Independence Day” is the day that the Declaration of Independence was signed, sealed, and delivered. When I was in grade school I learned about how the Americans battled against the British, and how they so badly wanted to escape the threat of being ruled by King George III. King George III was known for being quite unfair, and the colonist wanted nothing to do with him, or the British form of government. Although this is true many colonist still hoped that they would not have to separate from British completely, but to no avail the British reacted in a way that left the colonist no choice, but to come up with a solution that would save themselves from the British government.
