"Love is that condition in which the happiness of another person is essential to your own"(Robert Heinlein). What even is love? Love is a force of nature. Love is bigger than anything. It cannot be destroyed or it was never there to begin with. It cannot be stolen or taken. It is expressed in all sorts of different ways. People cannot dictate how love is expressed. Love is sharp like a fresh blade, it will always shine through, it is irreplaceable, fluctuating even. Love is unconditional. Love is like air, not visible, but somehow it is always there. Love cannot be bought or sold. Buying partners, that is not love. Love speaks out, for anyone, whether it is harmful or destructive. Eros was sexual desire; it was just dangerous and irrational love. Eros was only based on the idea of beauty which nowadays is coming back, however, it is still not as overruling as it was back then. This is equivalent as to hooking up and one night stands. People back then used to believe that the people they would love was only based on beauty not personality itself. Philia is different from eros, which is deep friendship, it was based off of fondness and appreciation for others. This is what friendship is known as now. Back then it was known for loyalty to a family or political community, it was based on loyalty and sacrifice to friends along with sharing emotions with them. Philia was not in a physical or sexual kind of way. Then there was Ludus which was playful or flirting between children or young lovers. This flirting, talking, or teasing is also known as when little boys are being mean to girls, it was their way of showing them that they like them, it is also the same now as going out to have a beer or to a club. Next, was Agape which is similar to philia but different because it is love for everybody. This was selfless love to total strangers. This happens because all those little things that used to be cute are not cute anymore, they just became more and more irritating to the point where thoughts of pulling hair out come to mind. Constantly, all that stuff that happens that did not used to be embarrassing, is now embarrassing. All of the happy memories that were made, could have been happier, they could have been this or that. All of the stuff they do just blatantly is now annoying. People try to feel that Cloud nine perfectness again but it just will not ever happen because it is not there. If the heart tells the body that it is in love, then it is. A lot of people get nervous when they are talking to somebody they love because they really care about them and they do not want to mess up. Society today tells the world that it is cool to leave, that it is it acceptable to leave and ruin someone. People fall out of love because that is the standards of society. Back when they did not have phones people always had to say feelings face-to-face; no hiding through a phone, no breakups over the phone, no more I love yous through text. Over a phone, which is when people are not actually themselves, is when people say things to make others fall in love with them. Then once they meet, they fall back out of love because the person behind the screen is not the same person.
