Physical Attractiveness
People say that “beauty is only skin deep”, and children are taught “don’t judge a book by its cover”. The act of judging someone based on the physical appearance is deemed immoral and unjust by the public. Yet, “We form first impressions from faces despite warnings not to do so” (Zebrowitz, Joann). One cannot help but dislike those who seem disagreeable, or turn from those who look ugly. The fact is physical attractiveness matters. It’s influences are far beyond just personal well being, it plays a major role in one’s social, business, and adult aspects of life too.

This is not only true in the fairy tales, but also in real life too.
The key to the gateway of romantic love is the mutual attraction, which consists largely physical attraction, which is also crucial to the magic of love at first sight or love in general. “We choose to pursue relationships with those who are attractive to us”
(Fugère). When one sees a target that draws their attention it’s common that they would take their chances and approach to them despite the probability of rejection.
“Good-looking faces trigger the same kinds of brain networks that are activated when people become addicted to cocaine and gambling” (Elmer).The urge to interact with those who they found attractive is so strong that not even fear could hold them back.
The discovery of common interests that enhances the experience comes second. Only
“as we get to know, like, and respect each other more, our attraction naturally grows and deepens” (Fugère). Physical attractiveness acts as the magnet that draws two people together. Only then would they have the chance to set down together and talk.
