In the article “Mindset,” by Carol Dweck, Dweck provides a definition and example of two mindsets. She focuses on having a growth mindset, since most people that obtain a growth mindset are most likely to be more successful in life.

Creator or Victim? Do we really have the power to control our destiny with a creator mindset? According to Skip Downing we not only have the power to better our life, but we can also destroy it with a simple attitude. In Downing’s article “Adapting a Greater Mindset”, he explains two different ways of thinking the first is called a victim mindset.
In the quote, “Why waste time proving over and over how great you are, when you could be getting better? Why hide deficiencies instead of overcoming them” (Dweck 7)? Dweck insists that the reader thinks about this question thoughtfully. What this question is saying is, while having a “fixed mindset”, people waste their time trying to prove their greatness. While opposingly, having a “growth mindset” people choose to spend their time trying to improve.
Neither one of the mind-sets are perfect they both make mistakes. The differences between the two mind-sets have a very wide variety. A fixed mind-set person isn’t very willing to learn because they are afraid they will be judged by their mistakes but someone with a growth min-set is always willing to learn even though they have to correct their mistakes “effort is a positive thing for them.” People with a fixed mind-set also have the tendency to hide their mistakes which often get them in more trouble than they were already in. In my opinion the growth mind-set would be more beneficial to someone because they have more opportunities to learn new things unlike those with the fixed mind-set.
This then spreads amongst other people. This forces other personalities to die out. There is a large variety of people who are open minded. This is primarily achieved once they grow older, though. There is still struggles people have to face through their school
The first mindset is the fixed mindset which is when one believes that “your qualities are carved in stone” or in other words people will believe that their intelligence and personality are fixed traits. The second mindset is the growth mindset which is when “everyone can change and grow through applications and experience.” basically, they can improve with some motivation or education and they push themselves to become better. Dweck towards the end of the article gives a scenario between 2 types of people with one having a fixed mindset and the other having a growth mind set who are getting a disappointing grade. The people with the fixed mindset would label themselves and complain, as for the other people with growth mindset would look to improve and work harder the next time around.
There are two known mindsets, a fixed mindset, and a growth mindset. The two may sound similar, but they are quite different. A growth mindset is a good mindset; it allows you to believe in yourself, it lets you try new things, and it helps you never give up. On the other hand there is the fixed mindset; this mindset is one that everyone has on some part or aspect of their life. A fixed mindset, as it sounds, makes your thoughts stay fixed about something; for example if someone is not good at math they might say that they are not a math person.
Author Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote, "Unless you try to do something beyond what you have already mastered, you will never grow." Based on my experiences, I agree with Emerson's statement. If you have mastered a task, what is the point of sticking to a pattern? I believe that unless you try to do something beyond what you have already mastered, you will never grow because you have to go outside of your comfort zone to learn new things and keep yourself excited, becoming stagnant will bore and frustrate you, and you can discover new talents and abilities by going beyond what you are used to. My first reason for agreeing with Emerson's statement is that you have to go outside of your comfort zone to learn new things.
People learn little from success, but much from failure. In a story by William Steig a little mouse named Doctor De Soto shows the meaning of success and hard work. Doctor De Soto and his wife dodge a not so sly fox. Doctor De Soto and his wife plan ahead to trick a not so sly fox as they knew that the fox would back stab them and try to eat them as a delicious snack , but as the fox thinks he's about to have a delicious snack Doctor De Soto and his wife had a surprise for the fox, they glue the sly ungrateful fox's mouth shut. In this story you would look though and find many Habits of Mind traits, they're 16 different traits in the Habits of Mind including Striving for Accuracy, Thinking Flexibly, and Thinking Interdependently which will be used and explained in the next few paragraphs.

There is no one way to approach this perspectives, one is not above the other, though for a long while the behavioural approach was holding the ace being assumed to be the only scientific one.
They develop based on a variety of factors including our genetics, environment, and experiences. Furthermore, our mindset is not the only thing that matters because there are some things it cannot do for us. It cannot replace competence nor can it change the facts. Our attitudes cannot substitute for personal growth nor will they stay good automatically.
My Self-Concept My self-concept includes a number of different adjectives and roles, these include both good and bad things. The adjectives I use to describe myself are as follows: kind, loyal, selfish, hard working, apathetic, practical, honest, occasionally rude, and procrastinator. As for the roles that I fill, I am a son, a brother, a friend, a student, the oldest son, and a teacher. Self-concept is a product of many things, it is not just simply what a person is.
Mindset is a scientific proof that shows both the potential of the brain to grow and change. It is divided into two categories: growth mindset and fixed mindset. Each people have different responds to challenges. There are people who can still stand and fight despite all of the failures. Likewise, there are people who are less resilient and tend to give up easily.
