Within our lives, we go through many phases of emotion. These emotions can be happy, sad, good, bad, lovely, terrible, etc. However, the emotions we face throughout our life make us who we are today. They shape our character and help us through difficult times. Emotions are a very beautiful thing, however, they also can be destructive.
The purpose of this essay is to pick apart Mill’s essay and to give my own personal opinion about happiness. Stuart believed that you could achieve happiness by helping others achieve happiness and by finding things that you enjoy in life. I believe the key to happiness is helping other people achieve their happiness, do things that you enjoy doing, and looking at things in the brightest way possible. I honestly believe that everyone wakes up in the morning wanting to be happy, I have never seen a person who wakes up saying, “ I want to have an absolutely miserable day today”. It is human nature to strive for happiness and do things that you enjoy to do.
When thinking of happiness, every human brain will travel down a different path. Humans seek different ways of trying to attain true happiness. Many individuals will seek pleasurable moments and things in order to reach their happy trial. Sitting on a porch Sunday morning with a cup of coffee. Happiness has been described in several different ways: some say money and possessions are basic in the pursuit of happiness, while some others say it has nothing to do with it. Firstly, the definition of happiness can vary, but in my opinion, it’s not about being rich and owning properties. Nevertheless, some might disagree with me, but facts speak for themselves: numerous rich people say that money has not given them happiness, and some still feel empty. To me, happiness cannot be described in such a simple way, it’s deeper and it has nothing to do with money or property but with feeling satisfied with your life.
Happiness: is a state of being that can be enjoyed. Although this definition is widely used, people struggle to understand happiness. A person’s subjective definition of happiness is shaped by his or her aspirations and life experiences. For me happiness is self love and selfless acts for others.
Once in a while, new research findings are published, claiming to have unlocked the secret of pure, innate happiness. And every time, it is something different that we should be doing in order to reach this almost nirvana-like state. I reckon it is much easier. It is impossible to define happiness in unified
My best characteristic would be joy. Webster’s dictionary defines joy as “a state of happiness or felicity”. Joy, though similar, is not happiness; which in general is dependent on material things or circumstances, while joy is the gift, where you chose to find happiness in each day, no matter the circumstances or situation. Happiness is dependent. It’s like saying, “I love you because blank”, if that characteristic were to fade would you still love them?
Happiness has a broad meaning. One may consider it to be having money, love, or even just enjoying the little things in life. There is no real definition for happiness because it all depends on a person 's perspective of life. Happiness is more about the way you think and act rather than a material possession. It is not something that has a physical form, or that is worth something valuable, yet everybody seeks it.
: Definition of happiness is different from person to person. Happiness is a inner feelings or emotions of the person. For some people, happiness is to enjoy their work, social life, but for other it may be money or family. Happiness is an experience in which we can understand more and learn appreciation. Sometimes, happiness is difficult for many to achieve just because of we can not enjoy the moment that we have.
We know it is an emotion we have all felt at one or many points in life whether it was on Christmas morning or you simply earned an A on your exam. Happiness is an astonishing emotion that changes our mood for a simple moment or even a lifetime. When happy you feel as if you are on cloud nine with not a worry in the world. Just as though, all your concerns are vanished for that slight moment. Happiness has the effect to take control over oneself in the finest way possible.
well, it’s just feeling goodenjoying life and wanting the feeling to be maintained” (Schoch). It is strived for in relationships, in successful endeavors or actions, or in taking up particular hobbies. Happiness is an amazing thing and makes one feel great, but can too much happiness be a bad thing? Too much happiness is a surprising statement, but is nonetheless true, because too much happiness can have negative impacts on one's life. Negative emotions, despite the fact that they are less coveted than the positive emotions, serve just as vital a role in terms of giving perspective, creating arguments, and preventing unnecessary risk.
Emotion is the force of life, it is why we do the things we do, it is the force that pushes us forward or freeze in place when least wanted. Emotions have a huge effect on people. They are present throughout our lives and influence our decisions daily. They can provide information about your circumstances in a quick way that does not involve a lot of thinking. So they can be a really valuable way of knowing.
A collection of philosophical, religious, psychological and biological approaches had attempted to define happiness and analyze its connections. Researchers have found that about 50% of people happiness depends on our genes, based on studies of identical twins, whose happiness was 50% correlated even when growing up in different houses. About 10% to 15% is a result of various measurable life circumstances variables, such as socioeconomic status, marital status, health, income, and others. The remaining 40% is a combination of intentional factors and the results of actions that individuals deliberately engage in to become happier. Studies have also found that most of us are born with a fixed “set point” of happiness that we fall in throughout our lives.
Happiness can be defined in many different ways depending on who you are talking to. To me, it can be found listening to my favorite music with the volume turned all the way up. Through this experience I am able to immerse myself in something I truly love and be a be a better, lighter version of myself. For some, happiness is living in the moment and experiencing life as it passes, but for others it means living a life of virtue. Though happiness may look different for everyone, it is something that everyone is striving for.
