Anger gives us the urge to fight. Fear gives the power to back down (Zaraska 2). Sadness shows loss in something we care about. Happiness helps us express positive emotions (Gruber 2). Each emotion has their own job to keep people safe and sane. Just as always feeling angry is no fun, having too much of any emotion is not good for humans either.
