When thinking of happiness, every human brain will travel down a different path. Humans seek different ways of trying to attain true happiness. Many individuals will seek pleasurable moments and things in order to reach their happy trial. Sitting on a porch Sunday morning with a cup of coffee. Going out with your loved one to see a new release in theaters. Welcoming a new born child into the world. These are all scenarios of what is considered to be happiness. All these scenarios are intertwined with pleasure. Coffee on a beautiful day, movie theaters and sex are all fickle pleasurable ideas that can lead to permanent happiness. Individuals that live in wealthy countries seem to be less happy than those living in poor countries. In order to be happy an individual must live as a free citizen of the world. The conscious and unconscious mind must work together to achieve contentment. Desire and appreciation play contradicting roles in American society. A man with a nice car could be content with his car, but when a brand-new model comes out the pleasure their car gave them disappears. Individuals in American society possess objects and materials that bring temporary pleasure.
