The idea behind Kantian Ethics is that doing the right thing is not about the consequences of our actions but rather the principle motivating the action. Actions must be performed out of duty, that is, it is done solely because we have an obligation to perform such action out of respect for the moral law. As explained by Immanuel Kant, “the moral worth of an action done out of duty has its moral worth” (105). Kant argues that to act morally, then, is to “act only on the maxim by which you can at the same time will that it should become a universal law” (108). Utilitarianism, developed by John Stuart Mill, is one of the most commonly used approaches in making moral decisions.
The Websters Dictionary portrays or defines happiness as a state of content,satisfaction or euphoria. Happiness is something that cannot be forced or simulated and it is more that just a simple feeling or emotion. It is more than just a noun used in the vocabulary of the average third grade child. Happiness is an undescribable sentiment that anything can experience depending on that specific thing. It is natural and one of a kind.

Coffee on a beautiful day, movie theaters and sex are all fickle pleasurable ideas that can lead to permanent happiness. According to Dr. Lyubomirsky, the happiness is defined as the experience of joy, contentment, positive well-being. Happiness is the combination of good life, while it remains meaningful and rewarding (32). The author says that in order to achieve the happiness, it is necessary to follow five steps to sustain the happiness (257). Firstly, one has to remain positive, to create moments of delights, serenity, enthusiasm, and thrill. Secondly, to choose the variety of activities and give them adequate timing.
