While, also maintaining the idea that happiness is something everyone is entitled to and that each person is responsible for their own happiness. However, my definition of happiness differs. I define happiness as a state when life fulfills your needs and you are satisfied with your inner self. Happiness is contentment. It is not joy.
The Websters Dictionary portrays or defines happiness as a state of content,satisfaction or euphoria. Happiness is something that cannot be forced or simulated and it is more that just a simple feeling or emotion. It is more than just a noun used in the vocabulary of the average third grade child. Happiness is an undescribable sentiment that anything can experience depending on that specific thing. It is natural and one of a kind.
Being Happy The word happiness is one of those words that is almost impossible to define. Happiness is one of many things that all humans try to achieve. The meaning of Happiness is the activity of the inner body, the soul, working to experience positive emotions and the feeling of contentment.
Happiness has been described in several different ways: some say money and possessions are basic in the pursuit of happiness, while some others say it has nothing to do with it. Firstly, the definition of happiness can vary, but in my opinion, it’s not about being rich and owning properties. Nevertheless, some might disagree with me, but facts speak for themselves: numerous rich people say that money has not given them happiness, and some still feel empty. To me, happiness cannot be described in such a simple way, it’s deeper and it has nothing to do with money or property but with feeling satisfied with your life.
Happiness can simply be defined as the state of being happy. But what makes people happy? What causes happiness? These questions do not have a just a single answer because happiness varies for on every individual. Any number of things can make a person happy; ranging from losing a pound, learning a new skill, and even scoring the game winning point.
I think that everything a person goes through, both good and bad in their life, they are in control of their own happiness. Whether it is though money, adventure, or family, you get to choose what goes into your life, giving you true happiness. When it comes to money, some people do not think that it brings others happiness, but to some people, it does. People want jobs to make money. They want to buy things, like clothes or accessories that they have been saving their money for, making them happy.
Many people believe “happiness is reliant upon the acquisition of something new or something different”, subsequently, they are continually searching for happiness (Kaye). Often times people look for happiness in their next purchase or in their next getaway. Because of their desperate desire for joy they believe that distraction from their current situation is a shortcut to happiness. Moreover, the common assumption that joy can be attained through one’s succeeding purchases leads many to seek satisfaction through cars, houses, clothes, technology, etc.. However, this happiness is fleeting and it will never satisfy because “those only are happy who have their minds fixed on some object other than their own happiness”(Mill).
Happiness that runs deep is those moments that bring more of an afterglow. One thing that blocks spontaneous flow of happiness is self-awareness. When we are aware or anxious about whether we are achieving happiness, then it is not going to happen. Aspirational happiness is often associated with fake cheerfulness or without any seriousness of life. By the very nature of happiness, the opposite of it is not unhappiness or even depression, but anxiety.
Happiness is the main purpose for every human being on the earth. Definition of happiness: could be defined in many several ways. Happiness is it’s the major key towards leading a happy peaceful life. Happiness can be defended in many several ways.

It is not something that has a physical form, or that is worth something valuable, yet everybody seeks it.

Individuals display their happiness in countless ways, could be having someone to speak to on good and bad times, happy relationships, passing an exam, having your loved ones alive and healthy can be happiness to you the list goes on. It all comes down in the way you view things in life. In my opinion it is about the energy you display or attract. When you give off positive energy into the universe you attract positive energy in return.
How does someone know if they are truly happy? Much of society have come to associate happiness with the pursuits of personal pleasures or that which makes us “feels good”. When we feel good we display positive expression of emotions such as joy, laughter, kindness and fewer negative emotions such as anger, hate, and sadness. To some people our happiness is already determined through our genes. Some people seek happiness through money and material possessions.
Happiness can be defined in many different ways depending on who you are talking to. To me, it can be found listening to my favorite music with the volume turned all the way up. Through this experience I am able to immerse myself in something I truly love and be a be a better, lighter version of myself. For some, happiness is living in the moment and experiencing life as it passes, but for others it means living a life of virtue. Though happiness may look different for everyone, it is something that everyone is striving for.
