When asked to describe a hero, Mickey Mantle, famous baseball player for the New York Yankees, Said “Heroes are people who are all good with no bad in them” This quote shows that a hero is someone who always does the right thing and has good intentions. What a hero should look like now is someone who is loyal and brave. In Homer’s epic poem, The Odyssey, Odysseus proves that he is a hero when he went to save his men on “Circe’s Island.” and defeated the cyclops in “The Cave of the Cyclops.”
Heroes can be more than the ones on TV. Heroes can also be soldiers or people in our everyday lives. Heroes are determined by the challenges and their characteristic’s. Some characteristics of heroes are tenacity, courage, and patriotism.
In the movie version of Orson Scott Card's, Ender's Game, many differences compared to the content of the book were presented. Overall, it could be observed that the differences and additions to the book were a bad choice for such a great book because it was incompetent to match the theme, make character relationships well and developed, and its inability to correctly convey the main character, Ender Wiggins feeling as he moves up rank in the International Fleet. The movie presented various pieces of rising action which cheapened the thrill of the climax, and in ways when compared to the book, was somewhat ironic. In the book, there are three main characters: Ender, Valentine, and Peter.
The first thing that comes to mind when hearing the word 'hero ', is comic books, avengers, justice league, super villains etc. Physically, they are usually tall, big, and super strong. On the mental side, they are described as someone who is brave, courageous, determined and are willing to help others and even risk their lives by taking sacrifices. All in all, a hero as seen by many, is portrayed as someone who represents the best qualities of ourselves. However, for someone to be considered a hero, they don 't necessarily need to have all of these qualities as described above.

A hero can be classified by many things. A hero can be superman, a police officer, and even your mom, but what makes a hero? Is it someone who can fly or shoot laser beams from their eyes or someone who saves a baby from a burning building? I’ll admit some of these characteristics are far-fetched since I don’t know anyone who can fly or randomly saves babies on a normal day. All heroes, including super ones, all have something in common, they 're admired for their courage or an outstanding thing they’ve done.
One could characterize a hero in many different ways. For example, some people characterize a hero by the actions he or she does. In contrast, others may characterize a hero by the character traits they exhibit. Although, there is no wrong answer personally I believe that a hero is not just characterized by both the character traits they exhibit and the actions they take, but who they do these actions and why they exhibit these character traits. A hero is someone with integrity and chooses to do the right thing even though they know that no one is watching.
A hero can be almost anything and anyone can be one. We need heroes in this world because without them we would have no one to stand up and make a difference for the better. Heroes do many things for us but they mainly do something to make a difference to make others happy. Some of the most important traits of a hero are selfless, brave, smart, and strong (mentally and physically).
