No doubt, happiness is not having all the money or everything we want. If we had everything we could ever want "it would only be a matter of time before your expectations change.." (Acacia Parks). What makes us happy, is the work we put in not what we are given, but the journey. In other words, Defining happiness is hard, because there is not a true definition of happiness.
Happiness is an emotion, which makes it subjective, so it is difficult to have a definite meaning for the word. Is happiness just the absence of a negative feeling or is it the feeling of fulfillment and joy? Depending on the person, the answer varies and different activities make different types of people happy. Furthermore, each individual is willing to sacrifice certain materials to bring them joy. Nevertheless, in general, as a society, people sacrifice certain things, like money and time, in order to “make them happy.”
Happiness is achieved when people live through reality. Every day, people are forced to make decisions about how much information they want to take in and know. Sometimes, they may choose to remain ignorant; they choose not to discover. When individuals stop to think and predict an outcome, rather than the thing they are actually doing, they can become distracted from their present happiness. Living in the moment should not require a person to have to think and evaluate a situation before making any moves, it should be a free-flowing act of life.

Listening to music makes me calm and feel at peace. Another thing I have learned to do to relieve my stress is to talk to my friends or watch some tv or something that engages my brain.
Not many achieve happiness in their lifetime. Either they do not live long enough to witness it or they are not prepared for what their happiness is. Happiness is very subjective. Each person’s version of happiness is different. This version of happiness is universal.

We should not rely on hope to bring us happiness, but we should take advantage of the mirage to be make us the best individuals we can be. First I will address the term happiness. I would like to argue that happiness is whatever you want it to be, either having good relations to others, having obscure measures of money or even being free, but I can not argue with the fact that happiness is controlled by chemical reactions in the brain that stimulate us into thinking we are happy. It is nothing more than simple biology.
Are you happy? The definition of happiness may vary from person to person. One may view that their overall happiness originates from materialistic features, yet others may perceive that their overall happiness derives from their hobbies and interests. However neither of them brings me ultimate happiness.
Happiness Happiness can be seen in my different ways and also defined in many different ways. With the information of the TED Talks, personal experiences, and the story’s that the class read, there was a lot of information and examples of happiness. The definition of happiness that I made was how people feel when they choose to help others and to take things for granted and not overthink anything. Also, by doing the little things in life, so people feel like they have accomplished more than what they would have.
Happiness is all around you; it is not hard to seek because it is everywhere, but you can easily miss it if you don’t stop and enjoy it. The study of happiness goes back hundreds of years. Socrates studied it and discovered that through human effort happiness is attainable and teachable. Also, if the soul learns to redirect from physical pleasures to virtue, then it helps lead a person down the road to true happiness.
Choosing to Live Happily Does it ever appear to you as if people live their lives trying to attain happiness? The decisions people make every day seem to revolve around what will make them the happiest. No one knows the true meaning of happiness but we all want to have it. Many people try to attain happiness through actions or things. Some people buy everything that they want to try and make themselves happy.
Happiness can be viewed from many perspectives. Individuals display their happiness in countless ways, could be having someone to speak to on good and bad times, happy relationships, passing an exam, having your loved ones alive and healthy can be happiness to you the list goes on. It all comes down in the way you view things in life. In my opinion it is about the energy you display or attract. When you give off positive energy into the universe you attract positive energy in return.
How does someone know if they are truly happy? Much of society have come to associate happiness with the pursuits of personal pleasures or that which makes us “feels good”. When we feel good we display positive expression of emotions such as joy, laughter, kindness and fewer negative emotions such as anger, hate, and sadness. The definition of happiness incorporates different aspects of religion, science, and philosophy. To me, being happy means that someone has discovered who they truly are and what they believe in. A study on the Jewish
Happiness is a Choice There is no greater feeling in the world than being happy. Believe it or not, happiness is a choice that comes from within. According to a theory in Psychology, all humans have a happiness “set- point” that determines their overall well-being. When something positive happens to a person, he becomes happy. On the other hand, when something negative happens to him, he becomes miserable.
