Courage can happen in a lot of different circumstances Courage is not given it is a choice. In the novel Roll Of Thunder Hear My Cry The Author, Mildred Taylor, used Stacey as someone to stand up for his siblings, his friends, the rest of his family, and stood strong against white people trying to take him down. Stacey had courage when he made a hole in the ground so the bus would wreck, when he charged at T.J because of what he told the white people about the teacher Mrs. Logan, and when he told Cassie, Little Man, and Christopher John to go get papa and he would stay there to make sure the Averyś did not get hurt. Stacey has a lot of courage because he tried to stand up for everything that happened to his family friends and his siblings. He would be afraid, but what I think he thought was I let this happen to someone, or it could happen to me and them, or it just be me.
One more definition of courage (and the one with which I personally identify the most) could be the Apollo 11 mission- the mission that put a man on the moon for the first time. Rumor has it that scientists working at NASA didn 't even know what the moon 's surface 's composition was- meaning that it was entirely possible that the lander could sink into the surface as if it were quicksand. Regardless, those three astronauts- Buzz Aldrin, Neil Armstrong, and Michael Collins- climbed into a tiny spacecraft atop a tremendous Saturn V rocket, not knowing for sure that they 'd ever set foot on the Earth again, and ended up making history. This- as well as both previous examples, and any that spring into the mind of anyone of whom you would ask the word 's definition- is true

I define courage as the ability to withstand the pigments that society attempts to impose upon any individual in order to conceal their true identity. However, growth is the compelling inner force that permits advancement of character and freedom. I found my courage to grow as I wandered down a twisted path which included several tragic events. I never recognized my biological mother's face until the age of 12 since Maurice gave me to my grandmother. I recall vivid events of my bullies, Maurice, and my newly recognized siblings as a result of being abducted from my home; my safe place.
A person can go through their life doing the same thing and may even do it wrong. However a courageous person not only realizes their wrongdoings or that they could be doing something better, but they need to take action to improve a situation or even their own lives or the lives of those around them. I can come to remember multiple times in my life in which I can say that I learned an important lesson from happen to be those from my younger years where I had been more ignorant to the world around me. During the deplorable years in the 8th grade, I suddenly had an epiphany. As I walked down the halls an unpleasing feeling sat deep in the pit of my stomach.

For someone to be courageous they can help people with problems that occur naturally or that they are born with. An example of this is when a group of people went to play on a frozen lake during winter these people came very close to death since the ice beneath broke and they were stuck in freezing cold water. As the people were freezing a young man named mark keicker came along and saw that they needed help. Mark keicker managed to pull the people out of the lake and save them from death. In this example no villain created the problem it was all an accident that the ice broke beneath the group of people.
