We are surrounded by heroes every day like firefighters and police but i want to focus on the armed forces. The armed forces put their lives in danger every day for our freedom. Soldiers lose arms and legs and a lot more things everyday protecting our country so we can have freedom, but they don’t let there lose get in the way. There is a story where it describes the soldiers limitations through everyday but does everything with enthusiasm. The armed forces are true heroic heros. They don't do it for fame or to be thanked everyday for serving. They do it for our freedom and for theirs. They sprint into danger. And often go years if ever without the recognition they deserve. It's difficult to achieve anything truly heroic unless you have great courage. As Nelson Mandela put it, “I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.” Now some characteristics that pop up into my head when I think of heros is Courage and bravery, leap to mind first when we think of heroism. Secondly I think of Selflessness True leaders always puts others first. Also Humility is a trait that almost every hero should have if not all.
