What is the Solution? The Solution is to recognize that the policy needs fundraising by member’s agencies while reaffirming the commitment to the single community-wide campaign on behalf of all the United Way members’ agencies and also define the parameter within which the fundraising activities by the member’s agencies should be done. (Oster277) These activities should be suggesting that if the source is of self-supporting income, and even doing workplace solicitation that is restricted, soliciting corporate supporters of the annual campaign that is restricted and doing fundraising restricted during annual United Way Campaigns. Komen for the Cure has invested $1.9 billion towards breast cancer research, health services, advocacy and support. The organization has several staple fundraising events, such as the Race for the Cure and also functions on contributions from individual donors, partners, sponsors and supporters and has grown into the largest source of nonprofit funds dedicated to fighting breast cancer in the world. Komen has 121 affiliates that are mainly located in the United States and each affiliate stages a Race for the Cure, one of the organization’s biggest revenue generators. Komen utilizes a franchise-like model for its affiliates, in which they operate as independently incorporated nonprofits but abide by the national group’s policies. Affiliates funnel 25 percent of their net income to the national Komen organization, which uses that money to finance scientific research grants.
This will spark competition between states and further increase fundraising efforts. Moreover, I want to have a competition to see which individual can raise the most money on StayClassy before Fall State. The winner of this competition would receive a free trip to a JSA overnight convention or a gift card. The funds for this would either come from a corporate sponsor or fundraising efforts. Through this competition, I know that we can get more individuals to participate in fundraising.
The ASPCA foundation could’ve had some information that showed the effect of people donating money. This would have enhanced the possibility of people donating money because they will actually know that they are helping. Also, they will know that their money is not going to waste. Even though the “Somewhere in America” commercial did have logos, it could have been better so that they could catch the audience’s attention and convince them to donate

The organization, which I decided to volunteer two hours of my day to, was Cumac. They work with a staff of 21 and volunteers from all over to help people in need with food and supplies they would need to survive. Their mission statement is: “CUMAC feeds people and changes lives. It works to alleviate hunger and its root causes for those in need in Paterson, Passaic County, and northern New Jersey.”
I volunteered at Lenoir Memorial Hospital the Summer of 2015. I received about 58 hours of community service. Ms. Ann Durusky is the Director of Volunteer Services at the hospital. Volunteering at the hospital entails admitting and discharging patients from their rooms, escorting patients or guests to where they need to be, delivering emails, flowers, and gift baskets. At first, I was sent with the lead volunteer of our group and a partner, until I was able to remember what procedures to take in different situations.
Their employees have volunteered over 2 million hours to help those in need. They have given out over 38 million in grants and loans which they distributed to 30 Community Development Financial Institutions, and these grants and loans help support diverse

Its mission is to feed God’s starving children in different countries who are hungry in body and spirit. Their process is simple. Donations from people fund the meal ingredients and volunteers hand-pack the meals.
The history of one of today’s greatest non-profit organizations, Johns Hopkins Hospital, starts first with one humble entrepreneur who dreamed of a better life for people all across the globe. According to an article written by Johns Hopkins Hospital, Johns Hopkins intentions for his hospital were as follows; “…to create a university that was dedicated to advanced learning and scientific research, and to establish a hospital that would administer the finest patient care…to care for the indigent sick of this city and its environs, with regard to sex, age, or color, who may require surgical or medical treatment, and who can be received into the hospital without peril to the other inmates, and the poor of this city and state, of all races, who
