During the play “Romeo and Juliet” by William Shakespeare there are a number of characters aside from Romeo and Juliet who probably shouldn’t have done what they did. These characters, specifically Friar Lawrence, Lords Capulet and Montague, and Prince Escalus all hastened both Romeo and Juliet’s untimely demise. First off, Friar Lawrence is one of the main culprits because of his plan to fake Juliet’s death. In act 4, scene 1, line 73-75 “Then it is likely thou wilt undertake a thing like death…” The Friar tells Juliet that she should take a sleeping potion that will make her seem dead, and then Romeo will smuggle her out of Verona to Mantua.However, this plan was quickly devised and highly flawed.
