Is it worth risking your life for love? In William Shakespeare's “Romeo and Juliet”, two lovers risk their lives and kill themselves just to be together. Juliet comes from the Capulet family, while Romeo comes from the Montague family. These two families have a very significant and deep hatred for each other. The play even opens with a fight scene between the two families. Romeo and Juliet meet at a Capulet party and instantly fall in love. They soon decide to get married, and Friar Lawrence, a cleric and friend of Romeo’s, marries them. Unfortunately, his poorly thought-out plans and decisions lead to great issues that cost the lives of both Romeo and Juliet. A whole plan was made, but it failed and ended up in the deaths of Romeo and Juliet. Friar Laurence is firmly responsible for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet because he had a poorly set up plan and did not think his decisions all the way through. Friar Lawrence married Romeo and Juliet, knowing that it can cause a variety of different issues. Very soon after Romeo had met Juliet, he ran to Friar Lawrence, asking him if he would marry them. He agreed, yet he did not just do this to satisfy Romeo, as he mainly did it believing that it would finally bring peace between the Montagues and the Capulets. Knowing the possible consequences, the friar still decides to marry Romeo and Juliet (Radlicks 2). The Montagues and Capulets were completely unaware of the marriage.
