Not every seventeen year old can tell you what they plan on majoring in without changing their mind but not me. I’ve always been interested in teeth. I plan on studying Dental Hygiene at Northern Arizona University because I want to be exposed to more than one learning environment. When I receive my bachelors in Dental Hygiene I want to stay in Flagstaff for a couple years and eventually go back to school in order to become a dentist but I would rather be practicing dental hygiene than go to dental school for a long period of time.

Many people in today's society need or want assistance because expenses are going up these days. I never understood that many people go without things just because of the cost or they feel that it's not a necessity in life.
Education plays an important role as well. Since I am pursuing a degree, I am already moving up on the chain but for those who work without an education will stay in the same social class, which might become a trend in their family. I always knew that statistics say that a person will most likely follow in their parents same patterns but that's not the case for some people. I learned that many individuals try to move their social status up but it's hard to achieve if you're starting from the bottom.
I also learned that peer pressure is common for everyone, whether we notice it or not. In my future career, I’ll examine patients dental hygiene, in other words I can tell if they brush, floss, smoke, and other things as well. If a teenager is smoking, I can guess that it's from peer pressure and not a self made choice since smoking is an old trend brought back but on other forms like e-cigarettes and hookah.
