personal statement Raised in a house by two physicians, I always had a predisposed idea about the profession I would pursue. Observing my father, who is a psychiatrist, and witnessing his passionate attitude toward his patients while diagnosing and reassuring them, has influenced my decision to study dentistry where I can help people and make change to improve their quality of life . I am very dedicated, passionate, and a caring person. I enjoy working in a team environment, and love communicating with others. The dentistry field in comparison to other medical fields has an additional aspect of meticulous manual work which I liked since dissecting animals in biology labs. The challenging environment that dentistry offers will keep my mind active, while its up to date scientific knowledge, that grow rapidly , will satisfy my thirst for scientific knowledge. My grade 12 courses reflect my passion, while consolidating, and supporting my motivation for the dentistry profession, as each subject has taught me essential skills in preparation for the challenges of university and dentistry degree. Mathematics has helped with my problem solving, logical thinking, and time management skills, while kinesiology, health care , biology and chemistry have helped further my interest and develop my analytical skills. …show more content…

I feel proud to have achieved academic awards each year and with graduation I achieved Ontario Scholar credential which allowed me to become eligible for multiple scholarships and bursaries in my current University. I have a keen interest in science and enjoy the complexity of the subject, especially biology and chemistry, At the present time I am attending the University of Guelph, for a Bachelor's degree in Human Kinetics.
