Chapter 16 from the book Mexican Migrants by Hellman talks about how he started seeing life differently when he met Francisco. When he met Francisco he noticed he was a very reserved man. He believed that the actions immigrants do reflect on everyone, for example if they see immigrants being criminals now everyone will think everyone is like that. I agree with Francisco because some people might meet the wrong and bad Mexican immigrants and will judge everyone out of one person, then later this becomes hard to make that person believe that not everyone is like the first person he encounter with. The problem with esquineros was that they stood all day hoping to get picked to go work with a contractor on a construction site.

Trump plans to take out DACA which is a program that million of youth Immigrants use. Many dreamers rely on DACA since it provides them permit for work and protection from deportation. Trump wants to reduce the number of Immigrants in the U.S He pledged to cancel DACA during his presidential campaign. In the article “Homeland Security” by Alan Gomez, He states that about 750,000 Illegal Immigrants receive DACA which leads to a attainable education.

The Border Patrol is adequately staffed and unlawful crossings is at a forty year low. The Department of Homeland Security is deporting criminals and immigrants that pose a threat to our communities. Deportation Nation In the early morning of January 23, 2014 residents awoke to the sound of a Lamborghini revving its engine. A 19-teen-year-old drag racing under the influence with an invalid license is enough to get any normal person some jail time. This was no normal teenager though. It was the infamous Justin Bieber.
As Senator Charles E. Schumer in upfront magazine has made clear, “What do we do will the 11 million undocumented people who live in the shadows, fearing deportation each day, most of them working to earn their sons and daughters a chance of the American dream.” Charles E. schumer s point is that because of deporting undocumented immigrants are hiding because they're afraid that they could be sent back where they came from without letting their child have a moment to see how America is and what theirs there to see and experiences. Of course, it is possible to disagree with the view that deportation keeps undocumented immigrants living in fear and instead argue that if immigrants are deported America would be letting too many immigrants in and then we'll lose a lot of our belongings then all immigrants are going to want to work and also take our jobs away from us. However the weight of the evidence is on the other side. What must be remembered is that immigrants are going to have a chance to be free and live a different type of life better, cleaner and more beautifully which is also a great opportunity for their children because they also get a chance to experience hard work and good knowledge they get from school.
Obama’s Immigration Policy: Presidential Memos to order Deferred Action Within the last few years, immigration has been a huge topic for debate. Americans have seen a large increase in the numbers of immigrants, specifically illegal immigrants, over the last few decades. That has many citizens wondering what has changed. One of the most recent changes has to do with an executive policy known as deferred action.
According to a study released last year by the Pew Hispanic Center, as of 2008, 11.9 million illegal immigrants lived in the United States, more than triple the 3.5 million who lived in the country in 1990 (Izumi). Immigration throughout the years has become a major issue in the U.S because of too many immigrants entering the country year after year. The U.S has come to a point whether they should deport the immigrants back to their country. Believe it or not, these immigrants are a big contribution to the U.S. If it wasn’t for them, the U.S economy wouldn’t be where it stands now.
In the society that we live in, it is very easy for an American citizen to say that illegal immigrants should automatically be deported. I am not in any way claiming that every American is supporting the idea that it is right to deport any and every illegal immigrant. If people were to put themselves in the position of the woman with three young kids, a sick husband, and a low paying job I am almost certain they would change their perspective on whether or not every immigrant should be deported. With everything that has happened with the presidential election and all the big talk on deportation of illegal immigrants take a second to truly understand what is happening around you. I am not here to tell you that you are wrong for believing in the fact that illegal immigrants should be deported.
Immigration has always been a major part of American history. Each year, hundreds of thousands of people travel to the United States in search of a better life. Of the 1.49 million immigrants who traveled to the United States in 2016, 150,400 immigrants were from Mexico. There have also been many people from Mexico who have immigrated illegally to America, with 5.6 million Mexican unauthorized immigrants living in the U.S. in 2015 and 2016. The large scale of immigration, both legal and illegal, has brought up issues such as national security and the U.S. economy.
Yet, nearly 80 percent of these cases are ending with DHS [Department of Homeland Security] ordering these same families deported back to the very dangerous conditions they fled. Disturbingly, it has been reported that as many as 83 Central American immigrants recently denied asylum were murdered within months of their return…I urge you to immediately end these raids and not deport families back to countries where a death sentence awaits. We cannot continue to employ inhumane tactics involving rounding up and deporting tens of thousands of immigrant families to address a crisis that requires compassion." ProCon.org.
Not every immigrant get into the country using the legal means. There are those who get into the country on student visas and start working contrary to the visas they hold. There are others who get into the country illegally with no genuine United States visa. The immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 focusses on the matter of illegal immigration through placing major fines on the employers of those immigrants who hire them. The Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1996 allowed a number of barriers to immigration.
